Might as well create a thread, since there doesn't seem to be one.

There are several articles online already, but I chose this one for reasons.

Don't want to talk about it myself, so you do it :|

Sounds like it could end up being pretty dark for a Disney flick. Can't wait. grin

Looking for some stories?

Two friends who I knew from 7 years ago are working on this! Can't wait! Almost sounds kind of like Roger Rabbit.

Sounds kind of like that old PBS show Animalia, but without the knowledge. Plus, it doesn't sound too far off yearly. Hope it's going to be in 2D hand-drawn style, but who am I kidding? It'll just be like Tangled.

So it's a Buddy Cop movie with Animals instead of people. Doesn't sound too original. Still, it could be good (or bad) depending on how they handle it.

(One of the things that always bothers me about this idea is the Carnivore Confusion trope: what do carnivores eat in this world? Tofu? Is not too big a deal, but if you are going to play the carnivores vs herbivores card, you'd better justify it.)

A world of talking animals has been done past death, so I hope they put a spin on it, or at least do something interesting with it.

So they allow THIS to be made, but American Dog??? No no that's bad!

What has me interested is the promise of making it feel like a world that has been actually been made by anthropomophic animals. Whether that will happen or not remains to be seen. I just hope it will be better than *shudder* Chicken Little.

[up][up]I really don't see why people have so much hate for Chicken Little because it was a pretty interesting story to something that was traditionaly too short for anything other than an HBO Family animated special. I say they should even try a sequel.

They had me at that concept art. Gosh if that isn't the cutest thing I've seen out of Disney in ages. I kinda wish it'd be animated like that... the rough style is very expressive.

That concept art kinda strikes me as "Okami, but more detailed". I like.

More specifically, it is a “buddy action comedy set in a world where humans never existed.”
Can't they just say "the characters are anthros"? [lol]

It sounds like they are trying to be innovative instead of simply treating anthros as being like humans in furry suits (similar to the Disney Robin Hood movie), which I like. I'm still a bit peeved that they abandoned King of the Elves.

Every time a fairy says that it doesn't believe in humans, a human child dies.

I like the look of the concept art, but I can envision this film going through a LOOOOOT of changes before it actually hits the screen three years from now. So, I'll be keeping an eye out for news on this one.

By the way, this was reported a few months ago. It looks like Jason Bateman could be voicing a certain fox.

Also, here is an interview with the movie crew I found.

While the story doesn't sound too original, the idea of a world of talking animals that's designed on how they would build things rather than "the human world but only with animals" sounds pretty awesome. I'm hoping the world design will lend an interesting spin on the story.

Only thing this premise makes me happy is that this is a original story rather than "allegedly basing on a older story".
