It's been at pvponline.com for years.
I don't understand this strip. Is the joke just that game consoles never have an HDMI cable even though the only reasons not to use HDMI anymore are that you don't have an HDTV or you're out of HDMI cables and need to buy another?
Fresh-eyed movie blogI...guess? My Wii U came with an HDMI cable.
I think it's just about the beginning of the era of console manufacturers admitting that HDMI is the default? The last generation had HDMI on 2 out of 3 consoles, but most people (not necessarily most gamers, but most people) still had tube-based televisions.
I still think the comic's making too much out of it though.
Fresh-eyed movie blogFor years, it was basically tradition for the HD-capable consoles to only be bundled with component cables and not HDMI cables. People didn't like having to buy HDMI cables because they cost somewhere around $75 per.
So yeah - while it may not be as big a deal as presented in the strip, it's still pretty big.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987... do you only buy Monster cables? I can get HDMI cabling for under a dollar a foot.
Wait, do you mean when it first appeared in the market?

Fresh-eyed movie blogMonster cables cost $ridiculous, but even the first-party-branded "regular" HDMI cables for a game system will run you $20-$40, for no good reason at all. If you search Amazon for an "official" HDMI cable for the X Box, for instance, it's $20, marked down from $50 MSRP.

Sorry for the necro, but has there been any commentary on the time skip and subsequent artstyle change? Is the strip under new management?
Not new management. Kurtz is apparently trying out something new, after running with the same characters for years.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The TL;DR is that he didn’t feel like waiting for all of this *gestures broadly* to be over and felt like it was a good time to jump ahead to when it already is over in the comic.
Today's strip involves the lowest form of blackmail I have ever seen in a webcomic. If my parents tried that on me when I was younger I'd have told them where they could shove it.
I couldn't find a PVP general, and it seemed like one should exist.
Foremost on my mind: where can I find PVP Alive? It seems to have vanished off the face of the internet. I remember it being really funny...
