Me too, since I made resetlocksley redirect to Logan Locksley to avoid starting my page from scratch.
Fear is a superpower.Ditto. I made a secondary/placeholder account without an underscore so I could edit it, but I'd really prefer not to have to make the switch. I like my underscore.
Locksley: You can edit redirects. You could paste over the source content of Logan Locksley to resetlocksley, and then cutlist or leave the Logan page as you wish.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Thank you.
That was easy.
Fear is a superpower.@0dd1: Couldn't you just get reknown as "Odd1" and get it custom titled back to "0dd1"?
I would rather not, both for personal reasons and archival reasons.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. You could also just create it as a sockpuppet, using it only to edit your troper page.
I dunno, I'd just rather see if there's some way for this to be fixed. I'm not the only one affected by this, remember, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would find that to be too much of a hassle.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. Not sure what you are hoping for. The spelling of the names is different. We need an equality.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyPerhaps a way to match them up. For example, if the way your handle is spelled matches the Troper page's custom title (as it does for mine), then it would be permitted for you to edit the page.

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I think we need some sort of "claim my troper page" function, possibly with mod support, but I'm not sure how we'd set it up.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Depends upon how the protection mechanism works, methinks.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThere must be some way to implement something like that. Like maybe what I suggested, if your custom title for your handle matches the Troper page's title, it can be matched in that way. Proof might be seen by looking at the edit history of the page and matching by looking to see if the person claiming a page has edited it enough for it to seem legitimate. Of course, that wouldn't exactly be foolproof, since the edit histories only go so far back and some people rarely, if ever, edit their own pages.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I'm having the same problem, and whenever I try to edit a page using my new account, I get a message that says:
"Please wait at least one minute before opening another page for editing. Here is a link to take you back to the page you were attempting to edit"
You cannot create or edit a troper page if your handle starts with a digit.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"But how can that be true? My original account has a troper page even though its handle is all digits (just do a google search for "411314 tv tropes").

Your page is Tropers/FourOneOneThreeOneFour. It has a custom title to make it look like a number. Under the new restrictions, you cannot edit it unless your handle exactly matches the real name of the article.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"So, does that mean I can never edit my old troper page again? And if so, may I copy the page's source and use it to re-write the page for my new account?
Dour new account still starts with a number. So you can't have a page for it.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYep. You can't have an associated troper page unless your handle has a legal (meaning valid for a wiki article URL) name.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Oh, okay. So if I start a third account that doesn't start with a digit, am I allowed to copy my first account page to make it the page for my new account?
Okay, thanks!
Because of the new policies put in place that the only people who can edit Troper pages are the people whose names match up with the page, I am unable to edit my own page. My page's URL is Tropers/Odd1, while my own handle is 0dd1 (my page used to be a ptitle, but when those were abandoned it was moved to "Odd1"). I checked if I can still edit my page now, and it comes up with the same message as if I tried to edit anyone else's page. ("This page is only editable by Odd1".)
So, this might be an issue for other people with custom handles as well.
