Always a feminist, always will be. Entertained the notion of egalitarianism for a while, but after seeing what anti-feminists preach my zeal has been justified.
I would be more comfortable if feminist transphobia and occasional homophobia were addressed more often, though.

shouldn't his favorite genre be RPG and not point and click thoughHas anyone watched Magdalen Berns' videos on Youtube? She argues both against SJWs and anti-feminists, though some of the things she says I disagree with. Anyone like to share an opinion about her?
Seems to be quiet here.
Anyone with opinions about Mary Daly?
She's a transphobe. I dislike her for that.

She's Claudia Brown now. Not her real name.

It's been a little silent here for a while.
Maybe sharing a few articles would be in order to stoke conversation?
It's spelt Sisterhood, not Cis-terhood statement
Falling Star: Countering Gender Essentialism with Sex Essentialism
What about We Hunted The Mammoth? Anyone follow?
Since it's kinda pity to see the stream of conversation dwindle, why not throw this one here, too, from Feminist Frequency: A Splash of Color: The Quietly Feminist Love Story of Florence
I read "We Hunted the Mammoth" for a bit, but I found that like reading horrible stuff with a thin commentary is still reading horrible stuff.
It certainly brings down your opinions on humanity at times to see so much negative bullshit.
I wonder how the people whom go out of their way to find all the really nasty stuff cope really.
I don't know if this is a feminist issue, but I do think this was out of line for Samantha Bee to do. For one thing Ivanka is not responsible for everything Trump does, and implying she seduce her own father is really disgusting as well. It's bad enough with the implied interest from Trump, but Bee encouraging it is really hitting below the belt.
What about the other articles I linked to?
Let's put it like this: was it right for Bee to call Ivanka a "cunt"? To be honest, no. There's this whole dialogue that's gone on about Bee trying to reclaim the word, which I should add is a sexist insult, and it's all kind of this big thing. I don't particularly think that it was a proper thing to say (and of course I'm of a mixed opinion on Bee due to her being fairly cis-centered and making comments that are kind of leaning towards transphobic...something she unfortunately has in common with Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert) but I also feel like the hate is overblown just like Kathy Griffin's whole thing.
But of course, given the White House is outright demanding her show be cancelled, which is legitimate censorship and a violation of the First Amendment, I feel like that is the more pressing concern at the moment.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
While the White House is wrong to say the show should be canceled, she is still paying for the damages with sponsors being yanked.
Also for the Rosanne Barr controversy, she really deserve to have her show yanked off as well because as above with Samantha Bee actions have consequences.
I feel like it's an overblown thing to get the right from getting too much heat after Roseanne's blatant racism. It's just like the Kathy Griffin thing. Was it right? Probably not, no. Was the response proper? Well when the government openly wants to censor someone, I think that's a big damn deal and far more of a pressing issue.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I agree with Adric and I'm uncertain if it counts as reclaiming if you still treat it as an insult anyways.Though I do feel differently than if a man said it, even if I don't think it's quite reclamation since it was used as an insult. But also the fact that the Whitehouse reacted the way it did matters. Also it blurs what Ivanka did (posted a picture of her own child, right when all the missing children was getting press, among other things).

No one could find anything new to comment about the "Sisterhood, not Cis-terhood" and "gender/sex essentialism" -articles?
I don't know TER Fs aren't good the petition is right? You had a lot of links so not everybody was ready to check them all out, and than we had the current thing.

Neither article favors them?
Yes I was agreeing with them.
Also spotted a few controversial ones on Feminist Current, which is TERFy. But if anyone's interested in dissecting such arguments, I can link to them.

The trend of banning burqas and niqabs continues.
Since no one's commented on the latest piece of news yet, may as well post these again:
It's spelt Sisterhood, not Cis-terhood statement
Falling Star: Countering Gender Essentialism with Sex Essentialism
Ought these not to merit more comment that just some "not everybody was ready to check them all out"?
I regret to inform everyone that Graham Lineham has come out as a TERF (see my comment in the LGBTQ+ thread).
