I noticed lack of one general thread regarding Warhammer Fantasy, so I decided to create a one. :)
Not only Warhammer Fantasy Battle discussions welcomed, but also all things related to Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (regardless of edition).
If anyone has questions regarding Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay's second edition, feel free to ask since I own most of its sourcebooks.
Warhammer 40,000 has its own thread here

Cool. I was thinking a defensive list with the Everqueen, something with Phoenix Guard as support, maybe a Silver Helms cavalry wing and a backup of those new Rare archers.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies. Is the Everqueen back again? I noticed she was absent in the last few editions of the High Elf book.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntShe's back, and she's the new Teclis, only instead of being offensive she's a defensive caster.
Her handmaidens are also back, and they're strength 4 archers with a -1 to armor saves inflicted on the Forces of Destruction (on top of the native armor piercing of strength 4.) Also they can move and shoot without incurring aim penalties.
Oh, and they're BS 5. Did I mention they were BS 5?
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies. They were always BS 5 :p
What I find noticeably nasty is that now apparently ALL high elves fights in extra ranks, not just spearmen/archers. And we got some nice birds apparently.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntHaven't gotten a chance to look at the birds, but yeah, High Elves got (arguably) more vicious than before, just with new tactics.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.I like like Skaven
I'm fine with this so long as they nerf the hell out of Hydras.
What's with all the elf books getting updated?
I mean, I'm not complaining, I play High Elves, but aren't there army books who badly need an update GW could maybe tease the release of instead?
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Like wood elves?
I imagine they'd like that :P
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.IIRC HE's at least is one of the more popular armies. Dunno about DE's. (never met anyone who played those)
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntDE's got a huge popularity boost in 7th edition when their new army book became -the- cheesy army du jour for a while. Like, Grey Knights level of cheese. It got evened out eventually.

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.I just got a sneak peek, it's Grey Knights all over again: Cheesy spells, cheesy magic items...
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."The new Delves? Dang.
Maybe I should play a game against a Dark Elf player, just to establish true elven supremacy.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Haven't picked the game up in while. Hell I don't even play, I just collect the army books.
I love how 4D4chan wiki describes the Dreaded 13th Spell
"Only use this on players you don't mind never fighting again,"
Where's that description can't find much of anything about De's on that wiki.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntThe 13th Spell is a Skaven spell that turns...4d6, I think, members of any unit into Clanrats that you control.
Meaning that if you're lucky you can take a 36-man group of Dark Elf spearmen and reduce it by 2/3, and you control the units (which automatically flank the unit they're in, if I recall correctly.)
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.25+ (which is the most expensive non Storm of Magic spell I believe), affects a single infantry unit 24" away (since the Skaven book was written before 8th, I'm not sure how it would affect cavalry) It turns 4D6 of the unit into clanrats. You then command them and may give then any upgrades. If you can't replace the whole unit, then it kills models equal to role, no saves are allowed at all.
Huh. Even back when I played that spell (though it wasn't called that) only did that on +4 or some such. (was absolutely crazy against Chaos Knights worth about 100 points though...)
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntNah, use it on the immortals the bastards
so it was a spell before their 7th (latest) ed book? I've got the sixth book and it isn't in there.

It is new, as far as I'm aware, anyway. High Magic was changed with the new edition too. Teclis can only take that lore now if you want him to have all the spells in a given lore rather than rolling dice for them.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies. The 13th Spell used to be called The Curse of the Horned Rat back when I first played Skaven. It was dropped for a couple of editions but came back for the last Skaven Army Book
I see. Well given the casting value, the spell had better be instant death.
Yes.
