Jacksfilms (Your Grammar Sucks)

Jack celebrated his channel's sixteenth birthday yesterday by, what else, fixing the "Happy Birthday" song.

I'm a little disappointed he didn't make it an actual song. It's more spoken word poetry set to a tune, if it's even that, with only a very minor attempt to make the answers flow together. I get the whole "live reaction" gimmick but I miss the "let's write a song" YIAYs that were actual songs, though I get they're a lot of work. You may as well just called it "Name some awful birthday greetings."

I cast resurrection on this thread... has anyone else been following the Jacksfilms. vs. Sssniperwolf feud? I was only casually paying attention but thanks to him bringing awareness to the issue, content creators are starting to report her videos and they're being cut or taken down.

Also, it sucks that Sssniperwolf has stolen the videos from and makes fun of the minors and gets away with it. Worse this is not the first time that she has done that, I remember that she basically ghosted the dying child who wished to see her.

I get that Sssniperwolf sucks and I'm glad Jack is calling attention to it, but the whole parody channel and bingo game just feels like tacky overkill and I prefer seeing him put out original content. You'd think she was like a serial abuser and not just a really lazy and selfish Youtuber. Admittedly I don't watch those videos anyway because I just don't find them interesting.

By all accounts, she is a serial abuser, but that's not really the point. Jack has taken a hardline stance on content theft and lame reaction videos in the past, and this is entirely consistent with that stance. Sssniperwolf came to his attention specifically because YouTube promoted her as one of its star creators, and he got extremely offended.

I find the current feud interesting mainly because it's starting to accomplish something. She's removing clips from her reactions and sometimes taking down entire videos now. We might get a grassroots campaign to force YouTube to treat content theft seriously, and that would be worth all of this drama.

Anyway, you don't have to watch the JJJacksfilms side channel if you don't want to. In case you didn't know, YIAY and JackAsk have recently started up on again on the jackisanerd channel. He's promised "main channel" content eventually, so we'll have to wait and see.

Also about the feud thing, I think there's nothing to stop Sssniperwolf and Jack should stop before it gets tiring imo.

I disagree, her team does seem to be trying to work around the backlash from what I see. It's the extra channel I find obnoxious (as well as some of the personally targeted memes), but the criticism in general seems quite warranted the more I learn about her (largely against my will).

The WAR on stolen content!

In this video, Jack discusses how he came into the fight against stolen content on streaming sites. It started when he found his own "protein shake" video freebooted across TikTok.

Jack discusses the laziness of many "reactors", highlighting Jason Derulo in particular, and talks to a number of creators about what constitutes reasonable reuse of a copyrighted work and what is not. For example, legit folks will ask for permission to use a video and offer credit for it, even if they don't share the revenue.

He also shows how to issue copyright claims against stolen content and gives a shout-out to some creators that have done it successfully, including a team that was formed to help with claims.

There's also a remake of the protein shake video in a "freebooting proof" format.

IMO, the sooner we can shame (or copyright strike) these content thieves off of their platforms, the better they will be.

Jack has apparently helped a creator to get Google to take an app down from the Android store for copyright infringement. The app's name is "Otamatune Series". It steals content such as TikToks from creators and streams those videos for its own users, showing ads along the way. It's the literal definition of infringement.

I know that some of you guys aren't fans of Jacksfilms vs SS Snipierwolf feuds drama, so you don't have to read my post, but if some of you guys are really interested in it, then here you go.

So recently, SS Snipierwolf doxes Jack's home on her IG stories for the whole world to see and gets rightfully called out by people, YouTubers, and Jack himself. I have to say that it's funny how after she got away with some freeloading and her awful behavior, she got even more backlash for her stalking.

I've been following that, yeah. Now we find out if YouTube is willing to take action against one of their big money-earners in any way, shape, or form.

I haven't followed the drama but yeah this absolutely crosses a line.

That makes total sense to me. I think posting someone's location with threatening implications is even worse than stealing content.

The problem here, and I'm speaking broadly as opposed to the specifics of her behavior, is that if she gets deplatformed for stalking it leaves the larger issue of YouTube ignoring blatant content theft unaddressed. I don't think she's that smart, but if she were, SSSniperwolf could be taking a fall to protect the shitty reaction community.

All this happened over a weekend, so let's see if YT does anything today. (Pretty sure they staff their moderation teams full-time, but plausible deniability.) Are they willing to toss one of their big money-earners for blatant rules violations?

I've heard, but have not confirmed, that G-Fuel dropped her — if she loses her sponsors that could be pretty bad even if YT does nothing.

If this is anything like the whole Act Man ordeal, You Tube will ignore it unless something turns around to affect them directly...then they'll punish him instead of one of their golden children.

What happened with Act Man?

Short version: Guy got doxxed and had proof that another youtuber called and threatened his mother. You Tube did nothing because "it happened off platform". Only to demonitize him a short time later for joking about doxxing You Tube staff...off platform.

Seems like YouTube finally took action, issuing a temporary monetization suspension to SSSniperWolf. It's the minimum possible action, but it's something.

It is. She also posted an "apology" on Twitter/X that is so perfunctory that it might have been written by AI, including misspelling the name of Jack's main channel. Her sister, meanwhile, is doubling down on the assholery.

also both youtube's and her apology use the phrase lapse of judgement and came out around the same time so it seems suspicious

also love the both sides are wrong from youtube /sarcasm. yeah the woman who doxxed the guy and the guy who just made fun of her content to get her to credit people both did things wrong

The latest twist on this drama is that SSSniperWolf ban evaded by posting videos on an alt channel. After being called out, YouTube also demonetized it. Kinda feeling like she knows what she's doing and doesn't care.

Also, Legal Eagle has weighed in, though perhaps without considering all of the information available.

Jack's made an update video. He talks about what life has been for him and his wife since the doxxing happened and how he's had difficulty really figuring out what he wanted to do with his channel, and he's going to try something new, reacting to and critiquing volunteers' videos for genuine feedback and advice. Also bingo is involved.
