What does everyone else think? Is this something you would hypothetically want to see?

I really dunno.
Can't say anything's wrong with it. Just... dunno.

I'm not that sure about it either. I mean, I think Evita was a fluke. How many musicals about politicians are there?

I recently got an idea for a musical. If Evita, a musical about a relatively-obscure historical Latin American first lady (Eva would probably be a historical footnote outside of Latin America if not for ALW and Tim Rice) could become popular, couldn't someone write a hit musical about Fulgencio Batista? The guy's a historical footnote already and his life story is perfect musical material. Poverty, idealism changed to corruption, gangsters, revolution. What's not to like?
I can see it now— Fidel and Che as chorus figures + a trio with Batista arguing about his treatment of the peasants. And Eduardo Chibas would get a sanity slippage song, where at the end the audience hears a gunshot...
Marta (Batista's second wife) and Fulgencio would have a duet where they talk about the opposition. There would be a Crowd Song in support of Batista in the first act, which gets a dark reprise in the second one when the people start to really hate him. And the revolutionaries would all get a big chorus number which would also be a Villain Sucks Song. There would also be a song for all the puppet presidents, who leave stage right as they are deposed in the first act.
Basically there'd be lots of Black Comedy. (After all, it'd be a rock musical about a dictator)
Of course artistic licence would have to be taken because you're squeezing the events of years into two acts.
And of course I have to get a composer who can write in different styles.
