Danganronpa: Academy of Hope and High School Students of Despair

The meme was actually a joke that started from the very beginning. Junko looked a bit crazy with that smile of hers, so people thought she would be a villain. Then she got killed and the joke died. It popped up again later when someone was extensively analyzing some stuff, and turned into a full blown meme from there.

Yeah, and now when she's suddenly relevant again it's ruined because everyone was always talking about her regardless.

Not really, when so many people are watching, and it's a mystery game, all sorts of out-there theories can surface, so someone eventually has to get something right.

The initial theory about her was really out there, though. All it did was keep people's attention on the character.

The one about Junko having a Backup Twin?

I think he meant the fact that, on the very first page of the thread, someone went "Villain! Bad guy! Antagonist!" based solely on her appearance. Which, granted, had a portrait with that weird looking smile of hers.

Or maybe he means something on page 300, I don't know.

Right now though, everyone is busy making/sharing "Stupid Newbie" avatars with the baby picture replaced with a picture of one of the characters.

Welp. Monobear called everyone to the gymnasium for a "hint". Everyone got there and left before Naegi did, and when he got there, Monobear gave him an envelope that contains a picture which shows everyone at school together (including Mukuro) besides Naegi, and now everyone's running from him for some reason. And then Fukawa was found collapsed in the biology lab.

Oh god this is hilarious. And now everyone is going crazy with theories to justify this. Then again, I get the feeling the answer's pretty obvious since this seems like a cliche often used in cartoons/series with a big ensemble of tightly knitted characters.

New update.

Fukawa fainted because she saw a body, the body of Mukuro Ikusaba. Kirigiri arrived and we got a proper investigation of Ikusaba's body. Also, the morgue had nine bodies, but ten students were killed during the course of this game. Kirigiri gave us a CD afterwards. When we looked at it, it appears to be interviews conducted by the headmaster with all the SHSL Students, starting with Maizono. Naegi also did this interview.

What's interesting about this is that Maizono was told that she would possibly live within the school for the rest of her life, and she was okay with it. This goes contradicts how she desperately wanted to escape the place. The same goes for all the other students pictured, and the rest of them all probably had the same interview and agreed to stay at the school, but before we get to see the rest of them, there was a power outage and we couldn't see anymore of that CD (likely caused by Monobear).

After that, we go to the last trial. Monobear takes the sixteenth seat!

Well, unless this is the 2 week, or month long paywall, it should sometime lift tomorrow or this week, so the non-goons should be able to view the updates again.

Another thing. Kirigiri confirms that the body is Mukuro Ikusaba.

I did mean the twin theory. The whole basis for it was Junko having freckles in person, when she explained that right away.

JUNKOS didn't quite catch on as a legitimate theory until Chapter 5 though, and the things you learn in that chapter about Mukuro Ikusaba's past can cast Junko Enoshima's backstory as told in her Free-Time Events in a different light. If Mukuro is Junko's Backup Twin, she may have realized that she spoke too much, and come up with a handwave to keep the masquerade going. For all his averageness, Naegi is surprisingly good at making people slip up or reveal secrets to him.

Urge to spoil myself is almost overwhelming. I want to know how this ends.

On another not though, I was driving to class this morning and I looked at the car in front of me. I died laughing because, kid you not, the license plate was JUNKOS.

I. Died.

Well, apparently this is the one month paywall. Looks like non-goons will have to wait until the middle of November.

The biggest culminating despair of all would be for Orenoren to somehow finish the game before the paywall goes down, locks the thread, and it disappears from non-SA member sight forever.(Given, he's already posted, I think, that he'll be adding it to the archives when he's done, but it would still be terrible for something like that to happen.)

Well he's a bit busy lately so no update till Thursday. Although I doubt it'll end so quickly, there's still tons of bonus stuff, the novel, and then there'll be DR 2 to watch! Which you should probably save 10$ in advance, y'know. Just get one of those disposable cards.

There was a big, big conversation/debate over translation these past few days, though I'd say the highlight was "Dangan Ronpa:4Kids Edition".

One (or some) goon(s) reimagined some of the introductions of the students. Like Sakura speaking with a cockney accent, Chihiro speaking in leet, and so on.
