Link to Trailer.

Gravity Falls is a new cartoon that'll be coming to Disney Channel this summer.

I think it looks promising.

[up]

Finally Disney Channel and Disney XD actually have a relatively reasonable number of cartoons.

[up] After Phineas And Ferb took off, they realized Cartoons can't age, do drugs, get knocked up, and other sort of riff raff that tarnishes the brand name. Atleast thats what Ive heard.

Betweeen this and Wander Over Yonder, I think Disney Channel might start to have some good non-Phineas and Ferb programming.

Phineas And Ferb changed the way the Disney Channel saw animated TV series. They now see a stronger market for irreverent cartoons that keep all the morals and heart that they used to create. Tron Legacy and Motor City anyone?

It feels like a strange dichotomy. Disney's getting tons of interesting animated ideas....with many stale sitcoms.

As a general question...is Disney out of its Dork Age?

^x5: The most amazing thing is here is that I mostly agree except on any worth that says that Phineas and Ferb is a good show. On the contrary, it's as much garbage as any of the other sitcoms that Disney has jammed in its tube.

I have no idea what the hell happened, but all of a sudden we started getting good cartoons again once Lauren Faust proved that it's not the franchise, but the quality of the material you produce that matters most and did so with previously obnoxious equines. But now, not even Cartoon Network nor Nickelodeon is capable of fighting back the Hub/Disney onslaught of good animated programming. Just awe inspiring, really! All of the edgy, quality programming is coming from fucking Hasbro of all greedy toy companies and Disney. That's got to be saying something about the future of the modern television animation industry. I guess you could say that Cartoon Network has Regular Show and brought back Cartoon Planet and Toonami, but that's not saying much when you look at what the Hub and Disney have to offer at the moment. Besides, Nick's stuff like the Avatar series will always be overshadowed by Spongebob which just thrives simply on the mere existence of it anymore it seems. It's truly Nick's The Simpsons except when I watch even the first few seasons I wonder why I even liked it. Even the first movie to me is painful.

It's flooring me right now, really. I mean, in comparison to Motorcity and Tron, this pales. But in comparison to the competition, it's actually quite good. I haven't been able to say this about a multitude of brand new prime time cartoon shows in years. Now if only we'll get a good spiritual successor to Courage next. A good scary cartoon will bring me much joy.

I loved the first episode. And I also love the myth arc they are setting uo and all the little clues in the background. Like in the opening there is a Flash of a page from the book that has a circle with 10 symbols which include Dipper's Tree, and Soos's Question Mark and a future characrter's Heart symbol.

Wow.

I don't think I've ever seen TV animation that good, even in a opening sequence.

[down] Why do people keep saying Cartoon Network and Nick is dead? [lol] On Nick we've got the Legend Of Korra, which although it may be one show, it's still a step in the right direction. On Cartoon Network many people love Adventure Time and Regular Show (Though I think it's an acquired taste, personally I'm not a fan). Disney Channel, aside from this, has what exactly?

Geez, fantastic animation, interesting characters, great sense for lighting and colour, and... Is that a reference to Batboy?!

It's official. Cartoon Network and Nick may be dead, but we have The Hub and Disney Channel backing us up with good shows.
