From previously in the thread, no, that's not possible. Basically, because of the economics of fund transfers, anything under about $10 just isn't worth it (and too small amounts could actually cost the site).

Pooling in the donations, making the fund transfer at once, then distributing the tropies won't work?

Users could do that, kind of (the payment would still have to come from one person, so the others would have to pay that person somehow, and then that person would have to give badges to the others), but there isn't an official mechanism.

Creating one wouldn't be worth the time I don't think.

Why exactly are gender badges not allowed in the shop? I can't find anything in the history.

What is a "gender badge"?

One showing off what gender you are. Male, Female, Intersex, whatever.

Somebody decided they had too much flamebait potential. Or something.

I don't see how that's any worse than saying what gender they are identifying with.

There are transgender and genderqueer flags. Maybe nobody's asked for male/female symbols.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

I think Eddie vetoed it, but it could have been one of the mods. :/

I asked. Something about it being pointless. Considering that it's a common annoyance for female forum goers to be assumed male (probably happens in the reverse occasionally too). I think it would be nice for a visual representation of your gender.

I can't really see anything wrong with it either.

It would really be helpful in using the badges to represent which pronouns the user would like to be used in reference to them. Respect when it changes.

I just went to the badge shop wanting to get a d6 only to find that's a die not represented.

So I made a really terrible one:

Just here to mention that the return of badges is now work in progress on the Wishlist, and the suggestion there is that this thread will be revived once it's back...

I'm thinking (when this gets implemented) we could have an award badge for tropers who do good work in Long- and Short-Term Projects, like the TRS one. I know a few tropers who IMO deserve such a badge, though I won't elaborate as that's for the mods to hypothetically decide.

Also we could update the YKTTW badge to say TLP as well.

I think the wiki cleaner award badge covers the first part.

[up] Just realized that actually, yeah.

Would an Image Pickin' badge be a good idea, for tropers who do good work there? I know some tropers who would definitely be deserving candidates. Or would the Cleaner badge apply there too?

Hm, maybe we can have a separate award for IP stuff. We have Wiki Artist but that's for people who create images for the wiki.

I just thought of an ATT badge too, for tropers who do good work in ATT. Is that a good idea, or no?

I know there's some people that have been consistently helpful on ATT but I'm not sure about having an ATT badge

[up] I was actually thinking about it and you're right.

Question: would a Cleaner badge be hypothetically awarded to someone who does work for ATT? Like, reverting ban evader edits, general maintenance, etc.?
