Test versions of lampshade badges for commentary:
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick
@5 I like.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. Those are neat.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.Love them! :)
Since there's a 4th of July badge, what about a more general "My country's birthday" badge or something as well? So as to avoid ~200 individual similar badges.
As for another interesting badges I'd like to see, there'd be "wiki visual artist" badge for those tropers who have provided artwork we are using in the wiki (the singularity pic in MEH for example), or an "enlightener" badge (hey, lamps and shade themings) for tropers who have helped trope an obscure work, or other things like that. I'd guess those wiki-related badges would be given by the mods.
On and I love the second (silver?) lampshade badge proposal. Perhaps it is just my screen, but it looks niftier and cleaner than the others.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google? The lines on the gold lampshade are harder to see. Otherwise, they look fine to me.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Added under "mod given" ones. Not sure if we would want those to be purchaseable if they are that spesific.
I like the idea of a "ask me for help" badge. I know we have the Heralds, but I would not mind having one that I could put up.

Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!I'm working on Flag badges. Here's six of them for example purposes. If you have a specific flag you want, post it here.

I'd buy one of those. No cookie for guessing which one.
Ninja'd.

Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur. The Lichtenstein one? :P
I like the lampshades...is there any way to give them a more metallic sheen?
Ideas: A picture frame with "IP" inside for IP-goers, and a hard hat with "TRS" on it for TRS regulars.

Considering my memory for these things, I'm amazed that I can recognise 4 out of those 6 right away.
...Though I am not entirely sure which of the 2 is Italy.
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!@Shima:
Canada and Mexico
I made it just for you, Best Of.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI kinda wanna be mean to Shima and suggest really difficult flags... You know, like Switzerland, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Mozambique, South Korea, Iran...
The six that you see, left-to-right:
Germany, Finland, USA
Italy, Japan, France.
Thank you!
It's a good idea to make that one 'cause it's really easy to make the flags for Sweden and Denmark based on it, too.

Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.Just added hottips for "spesific ideas" that are suggested. Though I won't link those.
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Thought I'd try my hand at making flags:
Those are good, too.
How big would the real thing be, though? Are those the final size, or are they gonna be a bit bigger?
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur. And I just remembered how bad I used to be at pixel art.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Well your current pixel art is quite beautiful. :)
(Started this thread based on this thread/post.)
For those that are unaware, one of the ideas for bringing in some money from the forum-side of the wiki is to sell "badges" (sort-of like the Herald one) that you can buy and put up as part of your "gingerbread" AKA.
The shop can be found by clicking on the "basket" at the top of any post. There is a 1 USD -> 1Þ exchange rate.
Each person who buys a badge will also be able to customize the hover text that people see for their particular badges. (Note: Only plain text is usable for a caption. Potholes and other wiki formatting will not work)
There are three slots under the avatar and above the "title" space to display them. You will be able to get to your gallery (where you can chose which ones you want to show and their order) by clicking on these slots.
If you wish to participate in making the badges, they need to be a max of 24x24 pix.
The only things we are completely keeping out of the store are symbols that are generally associated with any religion (the Yin-Yang and such are more known for other reasons), gender/sex/sexual orientation badges, and ones that infringe on copyrights. If you see things that you think do infringe, you probably don't have to worry about it. Those are images that don't match their originals (the heart container), are free-to-use, or the original copyright owner has lost their privilege to go after the "offending" images by not going after them in the past.
Please use this thread for everything badge-related.
The rest of this post is taken up by badge ideas, links to badges people have made, and default text ideas. NOTE: The list has not been updated in quite a while (and will probably never be) now that badge ideas/submissions appear naturally in the thread and go strait into the shop.
