The anime-esque moments will take some getting used to but...... it is karate and kung fu.
I love how the theme is basically the original as a remix!
I like the clips, but I'm not sold on the theme - the whole 'rap remix' on the original theme just rubs me the wrong way.
I'm OK with the remix.
The animation is going to be hard to get past, though.
I just hope they cut back the animesque a heck of a lot.
I'm still not sure how to feel about this show, but I will give it a chance. It almost certainly won't be as good as the pre-Fast Forward 2K3 series, but it might be decent.
"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all" Futurama, GodfellasI'll try to give it a fair chance as well.
Green Lantern surprised me. Maybe this will too.
I grew up with TMNT 2K3, so most of my experience to the radioactive reptiles comes from there.
While I may be biased because of my affinity to Turtle 2003. I can't help but to feel like this reboot is... slightly pandering to the fans of the 80's series and it hasn't really grabbed me. The art style is neat though.
But all that fucking Animesque stuff is getting really annoying, really fast though. I hope they cut down on it fast.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceIf we know who the visual development team is, that may answer some things.
I like how they actually put some effort into ensuring the fight scenes look good. The turtles ARE supposed to be NINJAS, after all.
I do hope this new iteration will not suck towards the end, like the last one.
And... DAT SQUEE...

New trailer:
I grew up with the 80's series, but really enjoyed the 2k3 series as well (even liked Back to the Sewer, and while Fast Forward could have been left out, it doesn't fill me with rage). So this series remixing the old school theme caught my eye. Bit wary on the rap bit, but at this point, this old timer cartoon lover can deal with nearly anything.
The animesque part do worry me. I like anime, but I dislike when shows overuse that kind of stuff( glares at Ultimate Spiderman). Hopefully, they'll use restraint on that.
One Strip! One Strip!Outside of Facial Expressions they haven't done anything to go overboard.
Show premieres tomorrow, in case anyone was interested but forgot about it coming out soon.
There's also a new clip on the Nick website featuring this show's version of the origin. I'd post a Youtube version, but I can't find any.
Dogpound and Fishface look awesome.
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DSo far, I don't really like this show as much as the (Pre-Fast Forward) 2k3 series, but it might grow on me. So long as they tone down the anime-esque stuff.
"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all" Futurama, GodfellasFrankly, the world doesn't need another CGI 'cartoon', but...
BUY A CAR FROM ME!I might end up liking it but I am still holding off my emotions . The first episode's humor may be what keeps the first half of the season afloat. Are they planning a combo of the 90s mixed with the 2k3 as in fun but 'serious when needs to be'? Or will it be an all out cheese fest of bumbling kids and emote expressions?
April being a Teen is just... I don't know, just off. For every series and movie she just gets younger, might as well regress her to a smart talking 8 year old.
Call me an insane fanboy, but I saw part of the special preview they aired and it sickens me.
Terrible terrible terrible. Give me 2003 and the TMNT movie any day.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!I liked it myself, aside from the ever cringeworthy attempt at a hip-hop/rap style theme song.
..........
... even with everything we knew about the show from the trailers and merch, we're STILL giving this premiere a bad review??
It's not a good first impression. Especially since the last series (before Playmates got their hooks in the writing) was such a hard act to follow.
"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all" Futurama, GodfellasI liked it well enough.
Donatello is adorable.
The only experience I've had with TMNT is the CGI movie though, so I don't have much to compare it.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton! Not too bad a series so far. I'll have to keep my eye on this one.
The previous TMNT cartoon had the virtue (at least up to a point) of actually following the comic book's plotline.
They even had Fugitoid.
BUY A CAR FROM ME!Why does the series have to follow the comic's plotline? With all the adaptations that have been done of TMNT over the years, why shouldn't there be some freedom to play around with the story elements?
The animesque moments are a bit weird, but as long as they don't abuse them, it looks to be decent.
I liked how Raphael pulled a Judo Throw on Leonardo using his sai.
