Have things really gotten bad recently, though? I've been on this forum for over a year now, and now that I think about it, I think I've been seeing people saying that the entire time.
Not trying to make it sound like you shouldn't help, or to say you shouldn't do what Fighteer said. 
I'm just wondering if things are as bad as people seem to think.

Seem to be a lot of bans, nastiness recently.

But a lot of the bans I've seen lately were for people I had filed in the category of "how the hell have they not been banned yet?"
Not invariably the case, but I've seen a lot of them of late.

True, but a few seemed to be people who seemed to do good, at least most of the time.
The analogy that comes to mind is Dolphins trapped in tuna nets.
Though a banned troper derail was not what I had in mind for this thread.

Dolphins are absurdly violent and cruel to each other, but I see your point nonetheless.

Right, getting things back on track, I would like to say that it's good to help out whether or not things are getting worse, getting better, or whatever, so it's good to see someone offering to.

They often do, sometimes because the Holler is about a post that may be a page or two (or much further than that) back from the end of the thread. Sometimes that's because we didn't see it earlier; other times it's clearly (going by timestamps) because it wasn't Hollered about while it was happening.

I've been a forum regular for about a year now, and it seems that things have been getting kinda bad recently.
I want to help, and I've done the best I can to stay positive and follow the rules.
