I prefer Insomniac and Nimrod. I like American Idiot when it came out but nowadays it feels too... pretentious? Trying too hard? Something like that. I still like the lesser-known tracks off of it though, like Whatsername and Homecoming.
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am...I'm cool with Green Day. I haven't heard too much, just their first album, a couple songs from that one album with a question mark on the front of it whose name I can't remember (it has "King for a Day" and "Good Riddance" on it, I believe), "Basket Case", American Idiot, and a few songs from 21st Century Breakdown. I like what I hear, though. My best friend is a huge, HUGE Green Day fanatic, though, but he's not a troper, so I don't know if that really contributes much to the discussion.
That being said, if I know anything about the internet and discussions that involve Green Day...well, here:

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.American Idiot is one of the few recent thigns that I've liked. Jesus of Suburbia is often, though it's sort of catered to what I normally like.

If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul. That would be Nimrod. "Brain Stew"'s also on it, I like that one.
"Basket Case" is from Dookie.
Speaking of Dookie, "Longview"'s pretty great.
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am...I liked American Idiot but preferred the mashup version American Edit by Dean Grey, to the surprise of no one.
go ahead and do every stupid thing you can imagineI've head of that, actually. Probably ruined the flow of Jesus Suburbia.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul. It's actually pretty much flat-out amazing. I say this as someone veeeeeeery rarely impressed by mashup albums that ain't by Girltalk.
go ahead and do every stupid thing you can imagineMashed up with what?
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.stuff.
multiple sources.
go ahead and do every stupid thing you can imagineI don't really listen to them much these days, but they were sort of formative to my music tastes early on: Dookie was one of the first albums I ever owned, and they were my Gateway Series to alternative rock and to a slightly lesser extent punk. Well, technically Punk-O-Rama and other cheap label samplers were my gateway to punk rock, but I wouldn't have started buying those if I wasn't also into Green Day at the time.
Green Day is one of my favorite bands. Nimrod and American Idiot are my personal favorites of theirs.
If you look in the mirror and don't like what you see, you can find out firsthand what it's like to be me.Mmm. Love Green Day. I own all their albums, but I'd say my favorites are Shenanigans and Kerplunk.
I love Green Day, they're actually my favorite band of all time.
But I'd like to bring up an argument that the Hatedom seems to love using, that they apparently "sold out." Well, did they really expect a band that's been together for over 20 years to do the same music for that long? I for one LOVE American Idiot, and think that it gets bashed on way too much.
ADHD? Bitch please, those are battle instincts! While this topic is still resurrected, they're releasing three albums over the autumn months this year. Uno, Dos, and Tres.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I remember seeing them on Letterman back when American Idiot was new. All I heard was SCREAM SCREAM SCREAM RAGE RANT PROFANITY RANT RANT SCREAM RANT.
Never liked them much.
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.Green Day is pretty awesome. I know a lot of people who really love punk music consider Green day way too poppy to be real punk rock, but either way their sound and lyrics have always attracted me. Like most, I prefer their older music, but i still own and enjoy American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown.
My PM box is always open to anyone who wants to talk/vent.I actually got into Green Day thanks to American Idiot, but my favorite albums from them have to be 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk. John Kiffmeyer must be kicking himself for not staying with them...

Dude, 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours kicks ass.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I love Kerplunk. Christie Road is my favorite.
Green Day are my favorite, and I can't wait for the next three albums. I have all of them barring 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours which is very hard to get here in Ireland.
As for songs, ¡Viva La Gloria! is always a good one, and King For A Day always gets stuck in my head.
I actually won third place in a school talent competition sing Holiday. The top two wrote their own songs.
So, now that this thread has been bumped back up, anyone else pumped for Uno!, Dos!, and Tre!?
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. So, more or less 12 1/4 hours until their new single "Oh Love" premieres.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. They've made some catchy singles in their prime, but they sure have seemed to faded into producing bad acoustic ballads lately.
Talk about Green Day here.
I really love this band, perhaps because American Idiot was the first album I ever bought. Damn, I still love that album and every song in it.
