Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

What other Jean Grey stories can the MCU work with?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. What about the time she got tentacle arms and kinda liked them?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe X-Men have the same problem Superman does, where there’s decades upon decades of stories to draw from for these characters, but previous repetitive film adaptations have gotten audiences seriously believing that there are actually only three or four that exist.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I shit you not, I'd actually WATCH that film in a heartbeat. It's something new, something weird, and something just straight-up bonkers... and I'm down.
Robin: Don't ever ask me to dock with you again. Serious...I want an episode of Born Again where Matt Murdock has to deal with multiple clones/variants of Foggy Nelson like in that one comic panel shared on this thread
Trust no one.The key is that they have to be compelling enough to not fade into the background, but also not be so much a protagonist that they're expected to star any story they're in.
Huh. Wong would actually work really well for that, indeed. He even has a means of just... turning up as called for, and leaving as called for.
And honestly, I quite like Wong, so I'd be happy to keep seeing him pop up, forming a part of the connective glue of a phase or two. ^_^
My Games & WritingAs of right now, Wong has connections with Doctor Strange and the Masters of the Mystic Arts, both Hulks and the Abomination, Captain Marvel, Shang-Chi and Katy.
Meaning he definitely could play the guy who knows a guy, who knows another guy card if he really wanted to.
Trust no one.And technically Spider-Man. Even if he doesn't remember who Spider-Man used to be under the mask.
Huh. Does Strange remember casting the spell at all?
One Strip! One Strip! He remembers there was a multiversal incident involving Spider-Man, but we're not sure exactly how much he remembers about what caused and ended it.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonIt just hit me that with Spider-Man focusing on being the city’s protector rather than, like, focusing on doing Avengers-level stuff at the moment, while also going through a fairly dark time in his life, this would be a great time for the movies to use Mister Negative.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Hollywood reporter is saying Ralph Ineson is gonna play Galactus: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/fantastic-four-casts-ralph-ineson-as-galactus-1235893995/
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Welp, I guess those who were suspecting it would be Giancarlo Esposito are gonna be disappointed.
Also, apparently Fantastic Four has John Malkovich involved somehow? That's actually kind of crazy. My mother's a big fan of his.
Trust no one.I think, due to his no-lose clause, it's a mistake to ever cast The Rock as a villain. Black Adam is a good example of how that doesn't work. It's better to cast him as a hero, then use him sparingly. Let him be super cool and awesome, but not over-centralizing.

Ineson is a very good choice for Galactus. He has that villain bass down well, though i wonder if he'll use his own accent or something a bit more flat and trans Atlantic.
I'm just gonna say this:
Galactus better not be a space cloud. (If you know, you know.)
The fact he's being casted with an actor indicates he will actually talk instead of being a voiceless thing.
So looks like that won't be an issue here.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Honestly this is Great. Ineson has been pretty great. Cid in ffxvi, the hunter in dark crystal.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."x4: Well yeah, I get that. I'm just throwing shade at the Fox executive that thought it'd be a great idea to have Galactus be a freaking space cloud.
Also, it just hit me! The guy they got as Galactus is The Green Knight!

but what about his herald!
New theme music also a boxJulia Garner's been cast to play the Silver Surfer who's Shalla-Bal instead of Norrin Radd here.
We see the film and Galactus is seen as a drone army
Then the real giant man shows up
Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down.Eats all those drones and says “Curious”
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
Dark Phoenix might not be a good match for the film experience
It was the capstone to a long serialized story and a lot of Byrne whining that Jean was ruining X-Men and threatening to quit
You can’t replicate that in a movie trilogy
