Sounds to me like you are a libertarian. "I believe that the government shouldn't have more power than is necessary and that people should be able to live as they want." Pretty much sums up my thread of minarchist libertarianism.

Just took the political compass test

Turns out I'm Libertarian Center leaning slightly to the left

You're going to pay a price for every bloody thing you do and everything you don't do. You don't get to choose to not pay a price.

Hey is there any truth to the idea Libertarians hate charity, cause I lean more conservative on fiscal matters but think the idea that poor people choose to be poor is ignorant and completely open to stuff like food banks and charity work to alleviate poverty.

Because I identify libertarian a lot of people make the old joke I hate the poor and think charity is stupid when I'm just a guy who doesn't like if when middle class taxes go up and they force parent to enroll their kids in the public schools when there are alternative option that would do the job better.

So the problem with that line of thinking is that not everyone can afford private schools. Public schools need way more funding than what they are getting right now.

As for taxes, why not tax the rich more than the middle class?

I think vouchers and school choice would also apply to public schools

Actually yes.

Most people are limited by environment when it comes to school choice but I gather most American communities have multiple schools.
