Hey, does anyone else think that a new wiki page just for Korean webcomics should be made? I looked under the normal webcomics page, but couldn't find anything.

My stupidity knows no bounds. Why do I do such things, why?!

I'm the guy that made the original Manhwa page here. I didn't make one before because at the time, I didn't think there was that much interest in Webtoons and know too much about them other than a few titles.

[up][up] Maybe. I would, but to me, launching pages is too much of a hassle. If anyone does it though, I would be more than willing to participate.

I found this new webtoon, Transfer Student Storm Bringer

It's a about a transfer student with a face of a thug. The problem is he can't fight. So gets tired of getting picked and starts acting like a badass. It works but it worse for him. It really reminds me of Zippy Ziggy.

Storm Bringer is a welcome relief, seeing as the main hero has to rely on brains rather than brawns. He kinda reminds me a bit of Lelouch. tongue

[up] I wouldn't say THAT. He's just too reliant on luck (and guts) than real strategy, not that it's any less effective. Also, he's not completely helpless because in later chapters, it is revealed that he has a very minor Super-Toughness.

Oh, and Noblesse 188 is out. Fuck yeah!

@Noblesse #188- That was epic! Franky finally uses the Dark Spear, and we can finally see what he can do!

Well, considering it's a Clan Leader that he's facing, Franky eventually had to use it. tongue

I think Franky would finally get a Worthy Opponent, instead of another Curb-Stomp Battle :D

I liked the bit where Kertia actually erased his battleaura to be stealthy.

Lol at Rai ignoring Kertia!

Also, TAL 6 is out

With that high calibre sword, do you even need any stealth? 0_o

Who else watched TAL? I recommend it because it is pretty hilarious yet mysterious, not to mention the gorgeous art and attractive people who will make ones from Noblesse run for their money.

I read TAL. Jack is a pretty cool looking leader and El Mae reminds me of Hakuoro. The art is very good too, though not quite to Noblesse standards yet. I also like how they constantly make jokes though. tongue

I just found this webtoon called The God of High School. It's about three jjangs that are invited to fight in a mysterious tournament. While it seems serious, I find it has a lot of humor and crazy martial arts. The schoolgirl is something else.

While that one is one of the most popular toons in Korea, definitely THE most popular friday ones, I really hate that series. Why?

  1. The dialogues are bloody horrible. Being a trope lovin cliched writer myslef, I can accept some cliched dialogues but in the series, especially EVERY WORD that comes out of the MC's character, is clingeworthy.

  2. Other than in martial arts (he once wrote a webtoon Ssen Nom (pretty much means, in the context of the series, the Toughest Motherfucker), and showed a incredibly well researched (or so the fans claim) martial arts and its applications), the writer doesn't even bother with any research at all.

  3. Politics is involved, even as part of an Excuse Plot. For fuck's sake.

  4. The MC is a Taekwondo user. I'm sorry fellow Koreans and anyone who knows far more comprehensively about the martial arts than me, but I refuge to consider that as an effective martial arts. The author is also yet to mention any practical martial arts, like Jeet Kun Do, Sambo, boxing (it's the matter of defintion but I consider it one), Silat, Muay Thai (was it mentioned? I can't remember and can't be bothered to look at the series I don't like again), Eskrima, Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, Eskrima, and for the love of god, Krav Maga. Don't tell me that there aren't places that can teach those martial arts in Korea either, because there are ones much more obscure and certainly less accessible in Korea. Seriously, what the hell?

It doesn't matter the author acknowledges that he knows what he's writing. If you ask me, his Lampshade Hanging is not enough to cover all that atrocity of a narrative that I see in this work.

When you done reading this, see my quote below.

Honestly, I don't really care for "realism" as much as a sense of "fun". As in Silver Age camp.

I'm a guy who's currently writing a story where a guy stops an anti tank rifle with his teeth and spits it to a helicopter and blows it up and can cracks a continent with one punch. My favorite movie is about gigantic transforming robots from outer space beating the living shit out of other robots.

It's not that I care about realism. It's just that everything, EVERYTHING, in that toon looks and sounds so shoddy.
