I wish Noblesse was published. I would definitely pay.

Is there any American webcomics whose art style can be compared to that of an average webtoons?

Hmm, bump. Also, have you guys experienced any case when the translations felt a bit strange or off? I sometimes compare dialogues in Korean and English and sometimes the translation doesn't feel right.

Noblesse 187

Well. I expected them to loose and one of the other Noblesse to show up (though it took him longer than expected), but for those two to show up at the same time...

[up]You can get that from any translation. Especial if the two languages are not closely related. This happens for a number of reasons (examples are Japanese to English): There are bound to be words in the original language that don't have an exact match in the translation (Name suffixes like -tan, -senpi, etc.); different uses of grammar (description followed by noun or pronoun instead of the other way around); words that have multiple meanings (here the problem is which translation to use, not how to translate it at all); and cultural differences (just saw one anime where people were wishing a performer "good luck" and the subers translated the statements as "Break a leg" and "knock them dead").

Well, maybe Rai can activate M-21's werewolf form again. That would be rather interesting.

[up]Hm... I like that idea. Rai would also have to fight/talk with the clan leader while M-21 and the younger brother fought.

[up] I don't think there would be any fight. It would be too onesided.

Well, if Rai has to conserve his energy in order to fight his way through the castle of the Lord, then it might make things more interesting. It might also be a valid reason to reawaken M-21's werewolf form.

Well yeah... but seeing as Rai is right next to Franky, I doubt he'll get to use Dark Spear. And Franky would want to help his master get to the grave too. tongue

Hmm, good point. Still, there's no way that M21's werewolf state is strong enough to handle two noblesse and their Soul Weapons.

Apparently werewolves are even more rare than Noblesse are, and incredibly powerful. Maybe M-21 has the heart of a Clan Leader equivalent werewolf?

Werewolves and Vampires? I seems the artist knows his movie monster folklore very well.

Vampires? Who said anything about vampires? In fact, a Noblesse would be offended if you called them a vampire. True, some vampire stories are derived from some of the Noblesse abilities, but you should not compare the two.

Hmm, I take you never heard of the vampires vs. werewolves thing. It was one main complaints about Twilight was it add teen drama with it.

What can I say, I'm pretty old by board standards.

LOL. My mom was working at a bookstore at the time. You better believe I heard a bit about everything Twilight related. Though I do admit I did not think of that aspect while responding to your post. FYI: this sudo-werewolf could kick a Twilight werewolf's but.

The reason I responded the way I did is because it is brought up as a minor plot point within the series.

And yes, Baam was great.

Baam was awesome.

Also, has anyone here read the Vagrants in Arad? It's a pretty obscure webcomic based on a MMO Beat Em Up game, but it's still pretty good.

It's bothered me off and on, but how would you pronounce "Noblesse"? I've been saying "No-bel-ees" (Or something like that-I am not a linguist), but that does not sound quite right.

Weeeeeellll, in Korea, we read it 노블레스, which is pretty much Noble-Less. Then again, we are not exactly known for best English pronounciation...

Really? Huh. *does what he should have done in the first place and Googles it*

According to Webster, it is pronounced no-bles (forum/firefox did not accept the pronunciation marks)and is the French word for nobility. Also of note is "noblesse oblige" which means "the obligation of honorable, generous, and responsible behavior associated with high rank or birth." The writer made a good choice of title.

Wow, sounds like Noblesses is really intersting — I initially wrote it off because it sounded like Twilight wannabe riding the recent vampire wave, but now I'm def going to check it out. By the way, has anyone out there read Ensemble by Yubi, or Cheese in the Trap by Soon Ki? Both are rather interesting slice of life, but are really good at handling drama and tension when they need to.

My stupidity knows no bounds. Why do I do such things, why?!

It does seem like Twilight but if you get past that you'll see the badasses and violence.
