I'm still kind of annoyed that Chrome completely disabled NPAPI apps, which means if I want to use anything that runs on Unity Player, I have to switch to a different browser. The Unity dev community's response has been "eh... by the time we'd be able to make a PPAPI version, everyone will have moved on to HTML 5."

Well, it looks like Mozilla does not have Bethesda's problem. As of Firefox 48, every extension has to be signed to work (like in Chrome) with no way to enable the unsigned ones like before and the developers even plan on phasing out their workaround. The biggest problem is that verification doesn't use certificates, like the kind websites use, but requires the source-code to be sent to Mozilla; which is a problem when it comes to proprietary code.

This has caused problems for extension developers and understandably angered affected users, myself included. I lost three extensions I used regularly. There was a complicated workaround for version 48, no idea if it's working for 49. I switched to a fork with less problems, at least Firefox is open source.
