Villain Motivational Song has to be a trope.
Overall, three favorite songs are The Way I Do, Kick It Up A Notch, and Status Quo.

At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...So, I'm doing a presentation tomorrow for my Sustainable Solutions class about the performing arts in the digital age, specifically in theatre - and it occurs to me that, as a group that does live stage musicals and posts them to Youtube, I'll definitely have to mention them.
So I just started watching A Very Potter Musical.
^ Yay! Enjoying it?
My favorite Starship song is definitely Kick It Up A Notch and the reprise.
Did you mention bootlegs? You need to mention bootlegs. The fact that you can find any Wicked performance you want is definitely worth mention, good or bad. [[/unrelated]]
I feel like Star Kid needs more credit from the theater community. They make musical theater more accessible, and I don't think that many broadway fans know about it.
my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogI mentioned The Grateful Dead and their bootlegs (a notable exception because they explicitly allowed fans to record their concerts), but I referred more to "legal" stuff, like the filmed productions of Rent, Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park with George, Les Miserables, the Metropolitan Opera's HD broadcasts and online Metplayer, etc.
As for the internet, I mainly talked about Team Star Kid and Eric Whitacre's Virtual Choir.

Agreed. I could easily see Starship ending up on Broadway. No one I know likes/knows about Starkid despite my many attempts to try and get my friends to watch thier stuff. I got one to watch Me And My Dick, but he thought it was weird and stupid. (I get the weird part, but it's not really that stupid.)
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.Yeah, I get weird, and if they only watched the first five minutes, I could see how they thought it was stupid. But once they tone down the dick jokes, you realize it's a really bizzare and sweet love story.
my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogAccording to their agent, Starship may be going to Broadway. BE STILL MY FANGIRL HEART.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.I thought it was great and that the songs were especially fantastic this time around!
Though if this were to go to Broadway, they'd definitely have to tighten it up. There's a lot of funny yet unnecessary, stuff that could be cut out. And they could fix up February's character a bit, though I think people are taking her a bit too seriously. She's not supposed to be admirable, you're supposed to laugh at how horrible she is.
Also, Roach was adorable, please tell me he's made it to Ensemble Dark Horse status. I love the new guy!

February is a total Jerkass Woobie for me. I seem to primarily see The Woobie part while others seem to primarily see the Jerkass part.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...She's not really a Jerkass, she's just [in February voice] really effing shalloowwww. [/February voice]
It should be on broadway! Seeing some of the stuff that makes it on broadway, I really think Starship would do surprisingly well.

my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogFinished watching it today (I am slow I know)
They turned that annoying dial-up sound in part of crowning moment of heartwarming!
IT IS LOVE!
GAAAH I love those tough sonuvabitchs
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.Thank you sir, they are tough bitches. They can do anything. That proves it.

my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogI am sorta dissapointed with the lack of buzz about it, is like my favorite scene in the show.
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly. As a huge fan of monstrous, alien bugs but an opponent of the constant negative stereotyping of invertebrates, a heartwarming musical Bug War where neither side is evil is a dream come true... except for the part where I wasn't the one who created it. CURSE YOU STARKID.
I was excited the second I heard its premise, and when I finally watched it, every moment was pure entertainment bliss. Some of the human acts dragged on a bit (and I'm to understand there's even more of them in the live version) but I wouldn't change anything else. I wouldn't even want to see the puppeteers better concealed - it was easy to focus on only the puppets, yet the puppeteers were still an integrated part of the show in the most clever and original ways.
The ENTIRE soundtrack is such an earworm for me that my mind has automatically minced up all the songs and combined them into one long song. I think some clips from Little Shop of Horrors and Rocky Horror have wormed there way into it, too...I wish I could rip an MP 3 from my brain right now.
I hope they'll be putting on the show many, many more times, whether or not the Broadway thing comes through. Heck, I know it wouldn't have the charm of the puppeteers and crude cut-outs but it deserves a full theatrical Hollywood film. Or a cartoon. Or absolutely any expansion, really.

bogleech.com for my writing, comics and cartoons. The whole thing with the puppeteers is kind of an Avenue Q thing, where the puppeteers aren't concealed but instead they use their facial expressions to make up for the fact that puppets aren't exactly the most expressive things.
Also, random thought: I think Team Star Kid needs to have a TV Show. It would probably be a really awesome Sitcom.

my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogYou mean a show about people doing theater shows? wouldn't that be Glee for Musical Theater? Please Elaborate
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.I don't know what it would be about, but it would definitely have Sitcom elements, and it would be hysterical. This is all in my head so it's not well thought out.
EDIT: I was listening to Team Star Kid's performance at the digitour and there is noticable improvement in Joey's voice since Me And My Dick. Especially in his high range.

my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogThat was probably asked before: What are the chances that "A Very Potter Musical" could become a broadway musical?
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.Due to copyright reasons, very slim. The likelihood of a Team Star Kid musical making it to broadway (from most likely to least)
A Very Potter Musical / Sequel

my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogI guess warner brother isn't interesting in making a musical parody of their cash cow. xP
Hey, wasn't there was a fourth show? little liars or something?
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.Little White Lie isn't a stage show. It's a webseries.
Everything happens for a reason. The reason is a chaotic intersection of chance and the laws of physics.Though it would make a good musical -thinks-

That's what I thought, too. But when he sings, he sounds like Princeton.
