I intend to watch it some time, but I have a terrible backlog.

Outlaw Star vs. Cowboy Bebop: Same here. But then, I didn't manage to catch much of either.

What's the frequency Kenneth?|In case of war.

Malk: So you're a crotchety old bitch, good for you. Now please, stop.

Charlie: From what I understand, he fought hard against an English dub because he thought Americans would be too stupid to understand it. After said dub was released anyway, he hoped it would cause a war, or at least a cultural one. Guy's pretty off his rocker.

Of course! All of that comes from a non-primary source. So I don't know if it's exaggerated or not.

^Never finished Outlaw Star. Don't remember anything about it either 'cept that girl in the tank. I was like five when it aired.

They were both on when I had an early bed time. Never saw them all the way through, though I've been meaning to check up on Outlaw Star.

@Spain:

...Yeah, that about sounds like what I'd expect from the guy who directed Lain.

@Zyxzy: That was one of my favorite elements of the show. Ships with robot arms > Humongous Mecha.

Nope.

Just the half-naked (or was it all naked? I forget) chick in the tank.

That's it.

^He was also "very unhappy", apparently, when American and Japanese interpretations of the show turned out to be similar.

SHOCKING.

If opposing opinions bother you so much Spain, this might not be the thread for you.

Also, what is with the inherent assumption that if you like anime you'll like JRP Gs? "If you like this wide variety of cartoons from a country, you must surely like a specific genre of video game from that country!"

I liked the Angel designs and various techy bits more than anything from Evangelion, really.

Oh, and the horror elements.

Does he know what COB means? It doesn't mean grouchy or argumentative, even though it seems like it would. The rules for the original thread were: "over 17 or willing to act it. Bring your brain."

It's like a family reunion where all the adults are sitting on the porch in comfortable chairs drinking and talking while the young'uns raise hell out in the yard. They are welcome to join in and talk too, just no tomfoolery or yelling. And anyone with water balloons gets smacked by Aunt Granny.

Yes. Malkavian, I don't think this sort of snapping is really fit for the COB threads.

Orrrrr what blackcat said.

There's Kaiju in NGE?

I may reconsider my longstanding decision to not watch it.

Oh, and of course I love Rei spin.

That made the series for me, right there.

@Spain: Kaiju-esque. Giant biomechanical warmachines versus Lovecraftian horrors from beyond.

Well, the Rei face does. It doesn't actually spin, sadly.

I'm not antagonizing anyone. Simply stating my opinion. The only 'snappy' thing I said was the final statement. Nothing I said was made with the intention of being rude or insulting outside of the last statement which was pretty darn mild if you ask me.

What is it with me and Eva? that show follows me everywhere. grin

Anyway, yeah, I liked it. From a writing standpoint, that is. none of the characters were really likeable. Although I have a softspot for Asuka, Gendo and Misato. /Repost.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

I plan to buy that new movie once it comes out. I assume the first one was enough like the episodes of the original series it covers that I don't have to watch it?
