I dont like the title. is should be "Official Sonic The Hedgehog thread", Not general.
Also I always liked sonic regardless of what game has is ever in.
I consider Sonic 06 to be So bad its good and not So bad its Horrible, according to the vids. In fact, I want to play it because of the glitches, but since they dont exist anymore... ugh.
"That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death itself may die."I liked 06 too.
So... how bout that anniversary game eh?
Inb4 Komodin.
Also, has there been any news for that anniversary game aside from its announcement?
Why I am afraid of fences. They're apparently releasing a 20th anniversary edition of Sonic Adventure's soundtrack, if that counts as something.
So I just watched an LP of Sonic and he Black Knight. Not bad and "Knight of the Wind" was an okay song. I just don't know why some people rank it up there with "Dreams of an Absolution" and "What I'm Made Of..."
Because it's DAMN AWESOME, that's why.
Why I am afraid of fences.Eh, the opening is pretty nice.
Speaking of the game though, it looked like a lot of fun.
And the boss fights looked like total jokes.

I wish we could have a Sonic game with some of the best or most creative bosses from the series, like the Egg Dragon, Egg Nega Wisp, Flying Dog, etc. And the Ghost Titan for good measure.
The biggest thing I disliked about the bosses in Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Colors was the number of repeats, though.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyCreative? The bosses of Sonic CD were pretty out there in comparison to the rest of the series. My favorite is the boss of Stardust Speedway.
Who is, of course, the greatest boss in the history of Sonic, really. Metal Sonic kicks ass: we really need to have another race against him in the future for throwback's sake.
The bosses of Wacky Workbench (who attacks by electrifying the floor, magnetizing the platforms, and then smashing you against the ceiling), and Quartz Quadrant (a survive until he kills himself match) are pretty creative as well.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Honestly, I liked the first boss. It was so simple, but if there were just a few tweaks to it, it'd be an invincible stall mechanism.
The sad, REAL American dichotomySo, uh... Sonic.
I wonder why they never use Nak the Weasel or Mighty the Armadillo despite already having been established in the games and general popularity (in Japan).
In most games that might just be to a lack of need for those particular characters, in others it might be because many characters weren't used there (such as Rush Adventure, Colors Wii), or maybe they just don't care about them.
Also, as a fanbase we tend to complain about extraneous characters a lot.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyRay the Flying Squirrel gets it worse than Nack and Mighty. Though Ray's a bit retarded looking...
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahWe did have a general Sonic thread at one point, but I don't blame you for not necroing it. I did prefer the title though, "The Officially Unofficial Sonic Thread".
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.Out of those three, Nack is pretty much the only one that could bring something to the series that is unfulfilled, and even then, he has a little in common with Rouge.

The sad, REAL American dichotomySpeaking of Nack, did anyone else notice how Croco from Super Mario RPG was so similar to him? Purple fur/scales, thief, brown hat, likes to hop everywhere (remember Nack would use his tail as a spring)...

You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.I'm half surprised they didn't use Nack in place of Gamma. I mean, Omega is cool and all, but... no wait, no he's not. Omega is awful. What the hell Sega?
Your post is a bit confusing.
Also I liked Omega in Chronicles.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.Yeah, Omega seems fine to me. And how would Nack instead make any sense?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI dislike the concept of Omega. I didn't think Gamma needed a successor necessarily. I mean, what they did in Adventure 2 wasn't great, but I just saw Omega as unnecessary. As a character he isn't too bad. I just have difficulty getting over my general dislike of the concept behind him.
Omega was first in Heroes.
I prefer Gamma myself. I liked what they did in Sonic Battle, but unfortunately retconned that out. It seemed similar to what was done with Dinobot in Beast Wars: Battle featured "Chaos Gamma", who was made from parts of Gamma and Omega, but couldn't remember either. Eventually he regained parts of the personality of both, and became the noble misandroidist that we could all know and love.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyYeah, I know he premiered in Heroes. Its was just obvious he was Gamma's replacement which never set well with me.
I dunno. Of all the many many Sonic characters, Omega was the only one that ever bothered me for some reason.
This thread will likely end up the way "I feel Sorry for Rouge in M&Sat OG" did.
I won't mention names.

Sonic Unleashed should arrive around March 1st. I've heard mixed opinions, but funny enough, I'm kinda looking forward to it.
Stargate SG-1 Let's Watch. Because my ZHP thing failed.
General Sonic The Hedgehog thread.
As far as I can tell, we don't have a thread for this yet.
Please try to keep this thread civil. As we all know, this fandom can be particularly fragmented. And on that note, as regards specific games, preferences, characters, etc.: YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY.
