You do realize that your attitude isn't helping matters in any form? Not only is it not convincing me and others of your view it's pissing people off. Sorry bucko. Buddhism's a religion first and foremost and has been for many, many, many years. While there exist schools of thought that more or less extract all the spiritual aspects from it those are by and large the minority among minorities in Buddhism.
As for religion being harmful...It's not inherently so. Nothing's so simple. Religion can be used for negative things and it can be used for positive things. It can inspire both as well. You're not taking into account the many schools, the many branches, the many individuals, the fact that organized religion isn't all religion has going for it and so on.

I sometimes go to church, not for the god aspect of it, but because even though they have beliefs i dont agree with, that doesnt mean they cant offer decent guidance. I often go just to listen to the message, and just cut out the part about god.
