^^^Would that be for every edition of the Bible, or...? Really, just putting those notices on there won't convince anybody. Would you be convinced by Ray Comfort's preface to his own edited version of The Origin of Species? (I didn't make that up, it's real.)

While anger can be valid and should not be ignored, creating anger just for the sake of creating anger isn't going to help anyone.

You do realize that your attitude isn't helping matters in any form? Not only is it not convincing me and others of your view it's pissing people off. I am beginning to wonder if annoying, petty anti-theists are the only sorts in existence. I've seen many sorts of atheists. Some were annoying, some weren't. Anti-theists? Annoying fucks. All of them. I don't understand this.

Equality and equity are not the same thing, and in this situation equity seems like the more useful concept.

Each to his own I personally think is the best policy to adapt. Who are you to tell someone what to believe? It's not anybody's place but your own.

And that's your opinion, and you are entitled to it. But dont try to go telling other people what to believe. They'll do whatever they damn well please, and that's not your place.

Sorry bucko. Buddhism's a religion first and foremost and has been for many, many, many years. While there exist schools of thought that more or less extract all the spiritual aspects from it those are by and large the minority among minorities in Buddhism.

As for religion being harmful...It's not inherently so. Nothing's so simple. Religion can be used for negative things and it can be used for positive things. It can inspire both as well. You're not taking into account the many schools, the many branches, the many individuals, the fact that organized religion isn't all religion has going for it and so on.

Because it simply isn't his job. Nor is it mine, or anyone else's for that matter. The only one who should be deciding what you believe in is you. That's what free will is for.

@Van The Baron: What makes you more rational than a Christian who talks things out with others, never pushing people towards their own religion, who keeps in mind that science can explain most things in the world today but not what goes on after death?

Rizu: While people can believe what they want to believe, my worry is that not having atheists/agnostics/etc speak up about such things gives more strength to the status quo.

I sometimes go to church, not for the god aspect of it, but because even though they have beliefs i dont agree with, that doesnt mean they cant offer decent guidance. I often go just to listen to the message, and just cut out the part about god.

the message? "God is a jealous bastard who wants all the attention to him self?" or "God hate *insert group here*" the message is twisted and illogical

@Aondeug: I tried to ask the religious leaders in my area questions, and I was billshitted out of the building
