He threw a childish tantrum online because Peach was High Tier in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. He also said a long time ago that she would never have fighting scenes in Super Mario Bros Z because she's weak and useless (I'm paraphrasing, not quoting).

It's pretty funny considering Super Mario Bros Z takes several elements from Super Mario RPG (and was meant to have a 15-episodes arc about this game's Big Bad), a 1996 game where Peach is playable.

, And by that point, Super Princess Peach, Super Paper Mario and Super Mario 3D World, all of them games where Peach took a more active role, had been released, the former two having been out for years - What’s this ”always” nonsense? Heck, by that point, Nintendo were also moving away from portraying her as just sitting around and waiting to get rescued when she got kidnapped, instead trying to save herself first.
That comment combined with his whining about Peach taking high tiers in Smash really were red flags in hindsight, huh.

Yeah, I thought that was weird since "Peach is useless and has never ever been in a fight." is one of those takes from non-fans who only know surface level details about the setting.
Granted, this take has more to do with Mark's biases, rather than his objective knowledge of the source material.
At least we never got to see his opinions on Amy since she was killed off before the story started.

That said, it's not like Alvin's opinions on Peach were uncommon at the time. Real Women Never Wear Dresses was in full fervor at the time of the original run.

And sure, that mentality is a thing, but it's telling that his reaction to Peach being high tier was to throw a tantrum online. Assuming that story is true.
Now, the internet can be a stressful thing, particularly for those who have mental health issues, but somethings can't be excused.
But on the other note, I assume that Mecha Sonic killing most of Sonic's friends is still something that's in the reboot.

Sigh, well, I had doubts the next episode would be releasing anyway. Guess there's no point for me tuning in now. I knew he had some attitude problems but FFS there's a big difference anger issues and... whatever the heck this is.
