And all that would do is make Disney lose more money over this flop.

Disney isn't producing the Spider-Man musical at all. It was in development well before the buyout

So why did you just say that Disney must have given permission for it? They didn't have to; Sesame Street didn't even have to ask for permission.

I didn't know that Sesame Street was protected. I did no research.

@No Disney Was Julie Taymor going to be there too? For that seems like a very Disney-like move.

Yeah, Julie Taymor was on the project from it's beginnings. Same with the Arachne story. Really, all she ever did for Disney was the Lion King Musical. Most of the stuff associated with her on the show like the puppet/costumes were done by puppet builder Michael Curry, who's had a long partnership with D Isney ever since.

It's not Sesame Street that's protected. All parody is protected. It doesn't matter who is doing the parody, it's protected. And the reason is exactly the question you asked — who in their right mind would give permission to a parody if it wasn't?

Thumped: for switching the discussion from the topic to a person. Doesn't take many of this kind of thump to bring a suspension. Stay on the topic, not the people in the discussion.

Sorry. Sorry. Still bitter over all the fair use issues Little Kuriboh, TGWTG, and other people I'm fan of have.

[up][up] it seems confusing only if you don't understand the definition of "non-for-profit". A large amount of people don't understand that if you're not making money it doesn't necessarily mean it's "non-for-profit" use. Also, it doesn't mean you can use the whole thing.

Two hours and 45 minutes... is that a lot for a play? I think I'd get uncomfortable sitting for that long...

I don't know about plays, but that's about the average length for a movie.

I think 2 hours 45 minutes is pretty long for a movie. 1 hour 45 minutes would be average length for a movie.

Not sure whether that's a typical play run-time, though... seems a bit on the long side.

Isn't Les Mis over 3 hours?

I think Spider-Man 2 act breaks. Isn't it 3 acts?

I have the complete symphonic recording of Les Mis, and according to iTunes, the whole thing is 2.7 hours of music. So that's nearly three hours, not factoring cuts and intermission.

Also, three acts? The only musical I can think of that's in three acts is Anyone Can Whistle.

Well I lost researching after raging at the early plot. I have no idea about how it works anymore.

When freaking Sesame Street drops a particularly vicious Take That! against you, it might be time to just give up.

There is no honest definition of "ahead" that encompasses "Spider Man:Turn Off The Dark".
