Absolutely! Grew up reading the thing, and I still enjoy reading my old back issues.
The online continuation is alright, I suppose.
Finally, another one who likes both Sonic comics!
I prefer STC, if only because it's the one I read when I grew up. I didn't read Archie Sonic until I was older and maybe a bit more critical.
Have you read the the online fan-comic?
I consider it official.
Favourite story (online and original)? I think "Running Wild" was the best story they had originally and as for back-up features, I rather enjoy silly stories like "Dr. Genius".
I first heard about this while looking for info on the Archie series. I was unaware of this series of comics. I haven't read any of it yet, but I do plan to. Likely when I finally catch up with the Archie series. I like what I've seen of some of the comic's art anyway. Other parts of it I giggle at. Especially Sally. And this cover.◊
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahThe art for STC is really atrocious for the first wee while. It does pick up eventually though.
Yeah I was assuming that the horrible looking stuff was the earlier stuff. The newer looking stuff I've seen looks pretty damn good.

OH SHI-
I only read the funnier parts at the start.
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DNever bothered to read the later parts.
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DShould this thread be renamed "Fleetway Sonic" or "Sonic the Comic" so that way, it would be easier to find this topic on the Forums?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!I hated Amy's origin story because Robotnik looked like he did after Issue #22 even though Amy was Pink in issue #21 before Robotnik changed his look by changing into an egg.
We have a STC character in the Pantheon Shorty as god of As You Know.

"May your heart be your guiding key"I never did read Fleetway Sonic since I grew up with the Archie Comics. But one of the things that I kept hearing about this series was that Sonic wasn't that nice in this series.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!He is jerk. He has a habit of calling Tails Pixal-brain.

"May your heart be your guiding key"IMO He is but it's very interestingly handled. See, in this version, Sonic turns into Super Sonic any time he loses his cool. With that in mind, you realize that he literally never allows himself to worry about anything or ever act with anything but full confidence. That's why he's so unbearably smug and usually just tells people to bite their tongues when they suggest that something is too much for him to handle.
One particular example comes to mind when Robotnik takes Porker hostage and demands Emeralds in exchange and when Porker tells Sonic not to give him Emeralds, his response is "don't play hero, Porker. It doesn't suit you." There is a similar story later when Robotnik takes Tails hostage on Flickies' Island and Sonic responds with "I knew bringing you along was a mistake!"
In both of those cases, Sonic makes clear that he doesn't want his friends to be in danger without showing at all that he worries about them because he's literally not allowed to worry.
One thing that I have noticed is that the Ancients in Sonic Frontiers are similar to the Drakons from Sonic The Comic.
- Both are aliens from another planet, an unnamed planet for the Ancients and planet Drax for the Drakons
- They both are responsible for the Chaos Emeralds, the Ancients brought the Chaos Emeralds from their planet, the Drakons invented Chaos energy then they put it into seven emeralds that they had stolen from the Echidna Emerald mines, creating the seven Chaos Emeralds.
- They both had a member of their race mutated into the being called Chaos, a Chaos Chao who is a descendant of the Ancients and a Drakon Prosecutor.
- They both had very advanced technology that could access dimensions the Mobius Rings for the Drakons and Cyberspace for the Ancients.
- They both created giant guardian machines the Ancients created the Titan robots, the Drakons created the Stone Master Sentinel machines.
- They both had abandon Island bases, the Drakons had Flickies' Island, the Ancients had Starfall Islands.
The main differences is the fact that Ancients were made of water whereas the Drakons were a race of Fish that lived in water, but both could go on land the Drakons using mobile suits and unlike the Ancients the Drakons are not extinct in the present day.

"May your heart be your guiding key"That reminds me of the situation with Porker where Sonic was being very aggressive with Porker when Porker wanted to leave the Freedom Fighters and according to the writers, Sonic was actually upset about Porker leaving the Freedom Fighters, but he has a hard time showing his true feelings. This is in stark contrast to the Archie Sonic where he is a bit more open about his feelings.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Mr Tinker in Idw seems like a modern version of Doctor Ovi Kintobor.
"May your heart be your guiding key"Oh yeah! I almost forgot about Dr. Kintobor!
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!It's been 30 years since Sonic the Comic came out!
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Hard to believe that it has been that long.
"May your heart be your guiding key"They had a convention lately too
