And don't forget the other big reveal that Clovis Bray has a physical body in another location we never would've expected The Tower - or particularly Banshee-44!

It does kill me a bit that I'm missing out on lore by not playing the game. That is, if the storytelling has improved.

Overall this particular expansion feels a lot more conservative in its use of cutscenes, it's bigger than Shadowkeep in amount of content but about the same number of cutscenes. That said, they use some visually striking graphical sequences with voice over that offers a fairly engaging experience. There is also a lot more and better use of character dialogue by seeing these characters physically in the world, making it more of a cutscene you can interact with in the game. A lot of these big revelations are handled this way, you learn that the Exo Stranger/Elsie Bray was forced to kill Ana Bray in her timeline this way, and finding Clovis Bray in the giant Exo head is a similar shocking development.

I used to say this as a dumb meme, but I just read up on some of the lore updates and now I'm no longer kidding: Savathun will join us against the Pyramids. Bungie seems to be switching the Hive Big Bad to Xivu Arath this season, who is pretty standard and Savathun is in hiding (Moreso than usual) from her own people. There's no way that storyline's ending with us killing her. I will bet money on it.

It's pretty clear from the lore that Savathun is trying to turn away from the Darkness after seeing what sword logic has done to the Hive. She is not a typical enemy and shouldn't be treated as such. I saw one suggestion that if she is involved in a raid there needs to be a massive Interface Screw to live up to that hype.

So I finally cleared the Deep Stone Crypt. I deliberately avoided too much in terms of walkthroughs so I can get a chance to experience the raid instead of just beat it. The raid does feature some really good, immersive experiences that Destiny hasn't tried yet, and it feels like there is a good pacing in terms of the encounters and surprises. The first was finding a Darkness Statue immediately after breaking through security, the discovery of Fallen Exos, using drop pods to travel to and from an orbiting satellite station, desperately running from Taniks while crashing said satellite, waking up with your health bar low and then having to fight Taniks the Abomination in the crash site.

As a whole, I think Last Wish holds on as the best raid for sheer diversity of encounters and more variety in the location (inside, outside, caves, pavilions, hellish pits). For the DSC once you get inside the whole environment has a cold, antiseptic look that doesn't offer a lot of visual variety, with the skybox being more notable than the individual rooms, at least until the end. All that said, I think Fallen raids are proving themselves to be some of the craziest and most enjoyable raids in the game.

Curious do you read the supplemntal lore?

The statue was one of the few parts of the raid known about before even the DLC was released, actualy, it wasn't so much known that it would be in the raid as just in the dlc in general, so my fireteam and I actualy spent half the dlc looking for it only for it to turn up there. >.>;

Its, a rather critical part of how Exo are made, or... was.

I don't read all the lore, but do watch some of My Name Is Byf recaps and catch a few glimpses in flavor text. I knew much of what happened, but like I said I wanted to experience that discovery instead of being shown in a video. I did notice a picture of the statue in one of the lost sector hidden rooms, which basically said Clovis Bray knew about them before the Collapse and figured the raid would explore that a little more. After the world's first it's kind of hard to miss that development.

This expansion does redefine a lot of what we previously believed about the golden age, collapse, Exos and the Vex.

So, I've started the game back up after not playing for... a long while (I think the most recent thing that was out when I last played was the Osiris missions or possibly the missions about Rasputin), and... all of a sudden I'm being dropped onto Europa to look for someone named Variks? I admit it's partially my own fault for not playing for so long, but I'm confused who thought "catapult everyone to the newest stage of content" was a good way to handle a quasi-MMO.

I don't like doing the "who cares who these people are, shooty bang bang" approach, but nor can I be expected to swallow two years of lore at once here, game.

That happened to me when I went back to the first game after about two years, it skipped the first couple of quests for House of Wolves, leaving me feeling like I lacked context for that plot... not that Destiny is good at providing context anyway :P

At this point the game's also not recognizing that I bought the expansion pass and wants me to buy Forsaken again, which, nah.

I forget exactly why I fell off this game, buuuut I can say I don't regret it, not really.

It's been fun.

So in case anyone hasn't heard, the new Season of the Chosen involves Caiatl, the daughter of Calus, offering a truce. But she demanded that Zavala bow to her, and his blunt "No." has become a minor meme. Among them include "Sorry, couldn't hear you over reloading the Fourth Horseman" or "Anyway, I started shooting!"

But Lance Reddick recorded a video of a longer response written by a Reddit user mocking her for expecting demigods to submit to her. "All I have to do is point them towards you with promise of a new weapon, or tell them Eris Morn can make you into one."

Among the various announcements that include weapon balance changes, which will lead us to Fusions taking the lead next season, VOG World's First Raid Race May 22nd 10 AM PDT. The Tempo's Edge Triumph is the collection of triumphs you will need to do after your team completes the raid in order to win World's First.

Season of the Splicer. It seems the Vex have managed to run a simulation that bleeds into reality and the Last City is plunged into an eternal night. After hovering around in the lore for years we finally get to directly work with Mithrax, a Fallen Splicer, in order to unravel the Vex network, which will take place in the manner of a 6 player activity (it appears similar to the Sundial).

On top of that the Vault of Glass raid is returning, we can "transmog" any legendary armor into a universal ornament and we will be getting some more stasis-charged weapons.

Season of the Lost. Mara Sov has returned and seems to be engaging with Savathun in a very expansive chess game. The Dreaming City is the focus point, with a new threat in the Shattered Throne.

Witch Queen reveal trailer. Savathun has somehow managed to harness the light and create Hive-based imitations of the ghosts. We are basically facing off against HIVE GUARDIANS. Of all the things I was anticipating, that was a big surprise.

Witch Queen gameplay trailer. A lot of focus on melee combat, with guardians running around with these glaive weapons. The Hive Guardians have access to the same attacks and light-spectrum abilities as regular guardians, you can see a Sentinel Shield and Blade Barrage. Not looking forward to a Thundercrash from a Cursed Thrall.

So are the Hive "Light Users" supposed to indicate a new Pv P mode, i.e. Guardians vs Hive? Or are they simply a new type of enemy to face in PvE?
