You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!European power metal is pretty cool.

I guess it is.If this is the "post European Power Metal here" thread, then:
...so wait, the topic is "European Power Metal" and I get... Iron Saviour and Hammerfall? WHAT?!
Sorry. I was thinking of Helloween, but I felt like posting Hammerfall for some reason.
Needs more Blind Guardian.

I guess it is.EVERYTHING NEEDS MOAR BLIND GUARDIAN, EVEN YOUR MOM.
EDIT: You should probably stop me before i post the entire discography, including bonus tracks and demos.

No need, I have my own discography ;) So, Power metal, huh? Think I have some.... https://www.youtube.com/v/MrT51PJgT3g Or... https://www.youtube.com/v/-y3CMlvrkN0 Do they count if they are only "half"? https://www.youtube.com/v/AjVR9gfBGy4
EDIT: I fail at embeding. Curse you, youtube!

Fist-pounding the Blind Guardian and Hammerfall all up in here.
I'm a big fan of Edguy. They almost do Spinal Tap better than Spinal Tap in their humorous songs.
Un-holy warcryyyy!
Dragonland, the embodiment of awesome.
Sorry for flogging the dead dead horse XD
Nightwish anyone?
Can't have a power metal thread without garbled, melodramatic opera vocals
I jest. I love 'em. New, old, and future incarnations...
or is it improper to conflate power with symphonic metal?

needs more Blind Guardian - do Sabaton count? I was considering "Shadows".
I am not that much of a metalhead, comparatively; but I'll admit, lately I've been listening to Gloryhammer quite a bit. Scottish power metal — utterly cheesy, but in a good way.

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.I've been listening to so much Power metal lately. Its nice to know there are other people interested in the genre. I was starting to think I was the only one.
The bands I listen to most frequently in this genre are Avantasia, Blind Guardian, Edguy, Gamma Ray, Helloween, Nightwish, Stratovarius, and Theocracy.

"We'll never hear the word Mordor again, Taggart has been cancelled.
Anyway, here's shadows by Sabaton.
If you don't get the joke, imagine saying it in a Scottish accent
Keeper of The Celestial FlameThe sweetest thing about this band is how, opposite to pretty much every power metal band ever, the singer sounds quite unpretentious.
No regret shall pass over the threshold! While I love Sabaton as much as anyone, Shadows is really not one of their best songs. Everything before Primo Victoria sounds really amateurish to me and it's not until Carolus Rex that they really became one of my favourites.
edit:accidentally mixed up Primo Victoria with Attero Dominatus

RISE OF THE CHAOS WIZARDS!!!!!!
If you like this, listen to the "Unicorn invasion of Dundee."
"I livstid i krig" is better than "A Lifetime of War", I think the Swedish version is a lot better. And Heroes was a great album.
EDIT: I've started a Sandbox.Gloryhammer page. All I ask is that you read the rules of the wiki if you want to edit it.

Keeper of The Celestial Flame
Not to knock power metal from places other than Europe, but there's something about Euro Power Metal that just can't be replicated.
