Well they did make a Death Note musical, so YMMV on the feasibility of the idea. As for the Humongous Mecha problem, I have no idea lol

A musical of Anya's Ghost seems like an interesting idea, though it might be hard on the stage. It might work as an animated musical.
Hey.I've actually imagined a What Dreams May Come musical, though I imagined it being based on the book, since I haven't seen the movie yet.
Hey.I'm sure there are some video games that would be good (if ironically) musicals. Like Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, and... that's all I can think of. But the problem is that a video game, even with a story, has more action than plot. I chose Fire Emblem (or at least the later games), because imagine all the duets that could be based on the support conversations, and Animal Crossing because there isn't a lot of plot, and could be a good laid back kind of musical.
If we went the direction of Video Game Adaptations; I suppose Dragon Age: Inqusition could feasably work as a musical. A bit grand and epic, but I don't see much that couldn't be done with a little clever stage craft.
Well, if we are on the subject of musicals based off of video games, I think a Sonic the Hedgehog musical might work. We would need singing voices for Sonic and others, but it can be pretty funny and epic.
I would love to see a Child Of Light musical. All the dialogue is already in rhyme so it's not a stretch. And the fantasy setting characters would fit well on stage I think.
Sonic Adventure 2 re-written in a Sonic Colors -esque comedic style with songs from the series. (Escape from the city, Fist Bump, Unknown from M.E., etc.)
Ouran High School Host Club stage play is coming in 2022, but I don't think it's a musical.
I think there should be a musical or opera of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, that shows Brutus and Cassius as romantically involved. I have... *cough* elaborate headcanons about characters from idol anime that I like doing a production like that (specifically, Dai and Rikka from Tsukipro, with Shu as Caesar, Issei as Octavian, Koki as Antony...)
A Japanese group did do a musical Hamlet last year that actually looks pretty good. So much for a century of using that as a punch line. (they're all actors from Tou Myu, by the way)

I’ve always thought ‘’Hail Caesar!’’ would make an excellent musical. It already features some musical numbers and the plot is largely wandering through half-finished sets.
In particular, I think the scene of Mannix consulting with some religious leaders would make an excellent patter song in the style of “Please Hello” from ‘’Pacific Overtures.’’
Also, “Would That It Were So Simple” easily homages “Moses Supposes” from ‘’Singin in the Rain’’
I like talking to friends about stories over food.Code Geass musical has been announced. Suzaku will be played by the actor who played Angelo (the blond one) in the musical of Cesare - Il Creatore che ha distrutto (an amazing historical manga about Cesare Borgia. The musical was absolutely amazing.)
Lelouch will be played by the actor who played Yusuke in the stage plays of Persona 5, and someone named... Fritz something, I think, in the musicals of Moriarty the Patriot (which are also apparently really good, search モリミュ(Mori Myu) for videos.
I shouldn't dare hope the Geass musical will be as good as Cesare, but I can't help it. I have thoughts about which actors should be certain characters (Lloyd).

This isn't exactly an idea I'd fully commit to, but a Neon Genesis Evangelion musical might be interesting, although the production would probably be insanely difficult, given the Humongous Mecha, and the compression of 26 episodes and two movies into something like two and a half hours, and the possible introduction of ideas from Rebuild of Evangelion. I don't know what the songs would be, but I imagine that they'd be emotionally stirring.
