A Musical Adventure (Discuss It Here!)

Here be the thread where the players may come to discuss A Musical Adventure. As well as non-player tropers, I suppose. Are there people who read the games here and discuss them without playing?

Well, nothing much is happening today or tomorrow. My final exams are next week, so I picked a horrible time to GM this. :D Hopefully though I'll just have three exams and a take home essay to worry about so I should be able to commit to the game fully next Friday afternoon until January. Woot. Still, game's going to begin Thursday (THURSDAY THURSDAY!) since no one has voiced objections to my Debut Queue plan for character introductions. I'll be contacting each of you players via PM to help design your starting towns.

Prepare yourselves.

Great. So, like, I think we need to suss out how our characters interrelate first off. I mean, the exact dynamic of the group.

The Nowhere Man is absolutely Chaotic Stupid / Cloud Cuckoo Lander. Not that he knows that. He thinks he's The Smart Guy.

Today is Thursday! And the thread is up! But before play begins, two things:

1) Players will be brought into the game one by one, in sign up order. So Darcs the Neurotic is up first, and so on. You will each be PM'ed before the start of your introduction for details on how you would like your starting area developed. Please don't drop in early. These intros are designed to put the focus onto each character individually and help everyone get used to the character before we get into the swing of things. Everyone gets a turn. Except the plot device rider.

2) Your first post in the game is granted far more extensive limits on what you are allowed to get away with than normal in order to facilitate a good introduction. Oneshot unimportant NP Cs. Destroy scenery. Make a memorable entrance for your character. Just remember that you're all at a pretty low starting level (relatively), and killing a dragon in your first post is going to limit what you're allowed to get away with in the following posts due to fatigue/injuries/whatever. After that first post, regular freeform rp rules apply. You post what you want to do and I tell you the results based on an arbitrary system. But for that introductory post, you have GM level power to do as you please and make your character seem awesome without contradiction from me (so long as you don't "win teh game" or assault or instakill the other player characters). I hope that will be worth the wait to start playing.

One other thing I'd like to note: this is going to be fairly slow at points. Namely those points where I'm hunting down three or so appropriate songs for a post. And those will usually be posts with major plot points. Eh. Regular posts should only have one or none though.

Sorry for the delay. Last week of the semester and all. EVERYTHING is going down now. Hopefully the game will pick up pace over the holidays.

I have no idea what the first song in my latest post is. In fact, I couldn't even find out what it was called or even a decent video of just the music. Sorry. But it does fit what I was going for, which was the activation of a whole series of easily dispatched Mecha-Mooks. These things would actually be dangerous if they were somewhat competent.
