So, uh.... how are we supposed to add, then? >.< Like, do we add characters to Jeremy and Cat's group, do they come from the mansion, or do we just wing it? I'd rather not mess up whatever reason the two of them are at the mansion... >.<

Just wing it.

I'm guessing this game is more like an rpg where all the players get to act the part of GM in a way. We collectively build the story, and the mass of us go wherever we think is most interesting. The only real rule is that we can't contradict what someone else has done, so long as the story stays mostly serious.

I've gone ahead and opened the door, introduced a new character, and tried to heighten the sense of ominousness. Plot's still up in the air.

So, I just swept in and added something, I hope it is okay as it is.

I'm liking this. Not one of us knows what's going on, just like the 'main' characters. Or Protagonists might be better. All the vague mysteriousness is believable. And the fact that Samuel makes the whole affair seem more sinister than his as-yet-unnamed master does is even better. We're doing pretty well for a game with a thread title of Let's Make it Up

Okay, how do you guys think about naming characters? My character currently doesn't have one, and I would be perfectly willing to go with whatever name another character would give him. E.g. if Samuel would refer to him as Humperdieck Butterspecht, I'd take it. I am asking mostly, because I want to address MV's character in my next post, but this is a subject where some people can be rather touchy.

I'm willing to go with whatever name is given to her.

I'm pretty sure the whole "if you don't name a character beforehand, they can be named by the others" sounds pretty fair, given the RP's concept.

I'm waiting for a response from a few more people before I post my own.

e X can you PM me what you have planned for the Lord of the Mansion? I want to join in, but the character I'll introduce kind of depends on the nature of Bennet.

Hmm. At this rate the entire game will take place at the door. Everyone just wants to control their own characters, and we can't very well move five or six characters as a group if we can't hold on to all of them. So, permission to move everyone into the study, with as little character interference as possible for those the poster doesn't control? I'll wait for an answer, but anyone else if free to move Samuel about as they please. He's just a butler after all. :P

Okay, I would be lying if I said I don't have a very specific idea what Bennet wants at this point, but wouldn't it kind of go against the idea of the game to tell you? I mean, the point is that we pretty much come up with stuff as we go along, and if somebody else reveals what the idea behind this whole event is, than I will go along with it.

That said, if nobody sees a problem with it, I will send it to you.

Oh I see, sorry, I never thought of that.

Then, if I see the chance to introduce my character like I was planning to I'll take it.

Alright, the study is now open, most everyone is there or can easily reach it, and we know what everyone is late for but not the specifics. Should be plenty of room left for whatever plots might be planted. Or something.

RANDOM CHARACTER ARRIVAL WHEE

We might be making this up along the way, but one of the rules is to try and keep everything mostly serious. Random monsters (that I can't identify even with three guesses) falling through a nonexistent ceiling for no real reason doesn't hold up the seriousness very well I think.

The character's fine since literally anything goes. A slightly less ridiculous introduction would be nice though.

Also, it appears to not be an original character. Please reintroduce in a more serious manner the character if he is original, or create a new character and introduce them if this character is not original.
