Yes. I bought this up on the long thread. For months I thought that it was a spaceship from Babylon 5.
I was close to that. I thought it was a spaceship from a video game, something like Mass Effect.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Bump.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.1) I have no idea what's going on there, but...
2) Isn't that the point? To illustrate Missed Moment of Awesome requires you to show nothing happening.
No, it requires a promise of something happening, and the angle and dark picture make the promise hard to make out.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Makes sense to me - a guy is squinting into a crack in a door to see all the cool stuff he's missing.
YKTTW Salvage ListOh wow, I thought the camera angle was completely different than what it actually was (from the feet up, instead of looking down on the guy falling down or something).
The concept's okay, but the particular picture used is really, really opaque.
Your beauty is radiant.Even the replacement isn't good, since the caption has to tell us this is a missed moment.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Yeah, I completely agree with you. The image actually looks like it's a completely epic fight or something. Mind you, that's exactly why it is a MMOA, but except for the caption, it doesn't say why it's a missed moment.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I agree, the caption says that we never see the fight, despite the fact that for all we know the picture is of the fight.
I'd suggest this, but there's probably no way of cropping it down to a manageable size without losing an important part of the page.

Reaction Image Repositoryshowing that it was missed is rather hard..
only example I can think of is Conan vs Lupin special that did.... nothing.
[1]◊ promo and [2]◊ is the best we got.
edit: ^ god that would be good (and its a non-disapointing version of this trope)

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!The problem with the Conan / Lupin picture is that if you don't know who they are, it makes no sense.
And like I said, with the Negima image, you need the whole page for it to make sense, and it's way too big to use as a page image. Which is sad, because it shows the trope really well.
Reaction Image Repositorychop these together into a single pic?

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!^ Can we get a picture without naked beat up women in it? It looks like rape porn.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickHmmmm, I dunno. I agree with shimaspawn that the bottom image just looks like a disgusting rape image, but if you remove the bottom image there's not really a "missed moment" anymore. Perhaps this should stay imageless.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I could cut it differently to avoid those 2 but that 5 minutes later thing is stuck there unless someone with photoshop cuts it out and moves it a little to the center. grrr
[1]◊ this one would need some work.
god negima uses this trope alot end of chapter 299 bam cut to 300 then there is Mana vs Kaede.
what about this? bah the 5 minutes later is the huge clue to this trope... grr

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I agree we need to crop out the nakedness; I guess we could just put the "Five minutes later" back into the image ourselves.
Would that work, or should we find something else?
This◊ image could work if we cropped out the panel on the right, although it would still be a bit on the text-heavy side. It would make a better quote than image.
The chapter 299/300 stuff is way too spoileriffic to use as a page image.

Reaction Image Repository^ It's far too much text and it doesn't quite say missed moment of awesome. For all we know he continues on with the story after they complain.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThey make him go back and tell the story because it literally is this trope tough.... to show it though in 1 frame. [1] the next page.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!So it's not missed then. It's just slightly delayed. It's not even an example.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI added the text to the quote page. It fits better there anyway.
Reaction Image RepositoryI like the second Neji (series?) pair. Caption: "wait, wha- son of a bitch!"
Fight smart, not fair.Which image are you referring to?

Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
The picture on Missed Moment of Awesome is dark and the angle makes it hard to make out what precisely is going on. Basically I had to squint to see what was going on there.
