Working Title: Stargate Network: From YKTTW

Pastafarian: Removed a repeat example from Hyperion, and edited a factual error in the Vorkosigan entry.

Portal isn't a portal network, is it? It's just one portal that the player moves around.

LazyNinja: Removed the Harry Potter Floo Network. While it's a network of portals, it's certainly not unreasonably difficult to travel by other means, also a criteria. Other methods in-verse include broomsticks and flying cars, plus a couple methods of teleportation.

alcockell: B5's Jumpgate network could be deemed a Portal network, as it is suggested by the RPG and by source material that the beacons hyperspace-side are paired with other 'gates allowing vessels to ride the signal path to their destination. See http://babylon5.wikia.com/wiki/Jumpgate or similar.

Dr Pepper: I'm astonished that Andre Norton isn't mentioned. Sorry i can't remember any titles right now but i think she was the first to postulate a gate network. In fact the network that Cherryh's Margaine is out to destroy seems to be a thinly disguised stand in for Norton's. Furthermore, Cherryh dedicated one of the books in that series to Norton.
