From YKTTW Working Title: Comic Book Fantasy Casting

Paul A: Can this also include cases in non-visual media where the writer pictured the character as "played by" a particular actor, but it's not as obvious because you can't see them? A famous example is that Cornelia Funke based Mo in Inkheart on Brendan Fraser, who went on to play the character in the film version. (And in her less-famous novel The Thief Lord, she based Viktor on Bob Hoskins. It was also made into a film, but not with Bob Hoskins in.)

Fans of the Doctor Who Expanded Universe, of whom I know there are at least a couple around here, will recall one particular writer with an avowed tendency to "cast" the characters in his novels, and to have one in each novel "played" by Ian Richardson.

Is it this or another trope when a comic gets a Live-Action Adaptation, and the characters suddenly start looking a lot more like their actors in the comic proper? (Wolverine comes to mind.)
