  • Beat Panel: A panel lacks speech or thought bubbles.
  • Briffits and Squeans: The symbols and visuals that are often used to represent certain things in comic strips.
  • Calvinball: A game that has no fixed rules.
  • Frustrated Overhead Scribble: A scribble indicating frustration/anger emanating from a character's head.
  • Noodle Incident: The characters mention an unseen past event, but are so vague about it that it's impossible to determine what exactly happened.
  • Pointy-Haired Boss: The person in charge of the corporation is a complete idiot.
  • Political Cartoons: Newspaper comics which satirize current events.
