It's largely just a coincidence (Demeter was in Development Hell for like 20 years, Nosferatu started development in 2015, the movie that became Invitation—which was in 2022—was first pitched in 2019—which is kind of when Renfield started too, though the timeline is a bit murkier, and Abilgail actually had the fastest turnaround as it got started in 2023) though as horror becomes more mainstream, it makes sense we'd see more adaptations of some of the genre's most famous characters.

So, over a period of over a decade, we've got about five movies featuring the Big D (I still count Orlok—haha—because he's basically Dracula in all but name). The stars just aligned in such a way that they were released in closer proximity than that

[up][up]Add in the popularity of Dracula Daily on tumblr, and it's been pretty good for Drac over the last few years.

I'm glad that there is more of a resurgence of vampire movies as of late. The stench of Twilight has finally gone away from the sub-genre.

There's no need to bash Twilight just because it isnt your taste of vampire fiction. Totally uncalled for.

Apologies if it was meant as an insult, but it is true that Twilight caused the vampire genre to die off for about a decade.
