They could have Amy based on her characterization from stuff like Sonic Boom and Frontiers where her Sonic stalking tendencies are a lot more downplayed there.

I was wondering, with the situation with Paramount possibly merging with either Sony or Skydance, do you think this will affect the Sonic movies moving forward?

More like non-existent, outside of Boom Amy questionable attachment to Sonic in places, which she acknowledges is not normal.

3 is probably too far along for it to matter, but that does make me worry about what comes after that. Looking at the way Sony has been treating their current Spiderman universe, I don't want them anywhere near Sonic.

I wonder who could be Sonic's equivalent of Madame Web.

Unless Sony made the Sonic movies like the Spiderverse movies.

Considering they tried to sell Madame Web based mostly on the attractiveness of the actress I would guess Rouge.

Fair, I hadn't considered that. Although I still haven't seen the second one.

Actually, Variety is reporting that Sony’s deal was a non starter. They won’t be making any sales any time soon.

Weren't the Sonic movies originally going to be owned by Sony? I wonder how the movies would have turned out if Sony had the rights to the films?

Looking at the trivia page, Sonic originally wasn’t that high a priority for them. I don’t know much else for sure.

Paramount/whichever special effects team re-did Sonic's appearance deserve kudos for the decision and not tossing out a pile of trash.

It's been said before, but the turnaround these films pulled while diving into some of the more divisive elements of Sonic's setting and identity is truly astounding.

Honestly, given Sony's recent track record with films, Sonic leaving for Paramount was for the best.

Yeah, especially with Sony's recent Spider-Man films (with the exception of the Spider-Verse movies, of course) not doing well at all.

No Sony superhero movie does well. Especially when they're having to trick actors into thinking that their films are part of the MCU.

Seriously the lead actress in Madame Webb was outright lied to by her agent into thinking she'd be in an MCU film.

Wait, they lied to the lead actress about being in a MCU movie?

"Hey, I got you a role in the next Spider-man!"

"Oh wow! Spider-man 4?"

"Well, Spider-man's not in it, but it's basically a Spider-man movie. It's like Spider-woman!"

"Oh cool, so well at least I'll be part of the Marvel universe so that'll set me up for future roles right?"

"I mean...it's definitely Marvel..."

Yeah...that pretty much sounds like a lie...

Sony apparently even promoted Morbius as going "Oh yeah it's totally part of the MCU" by trying to follow up on Homecoming's stinger and Marvel even put out a press release of "No, Morbius is not part of the MCU, we have no idea why they said that."

It's like Sony wants to be like the MCU, but they can't really find the right balance that the MCU had.

I wonder if perhaps that helped contribute to Marvel losing that balance lately, as though Marvel was building a house of cards that was already starting to get wobbly, only for Sony to barge in and haphazardly try to add even more to it just so it could say it was involved with the project.
