Throughout this site, some tropers have a habit of adding in potholes and references to their favorite reviewers in entries, e.g. "Come see (reviewer)'s take on it here!"
Not only is it often unnecessary, but in some cases if the critic in question is a Caustic Critic it can be used to invite complaining, on top of crossing over into Reviews Are the Gospel territory since these tropers often treat these reviewers as if their opinion is fact.

, this thread has been created in Long-Term Projects to clean up this kind of thing and Reviews Are the Gospel-type stuff in general.

From Mega Man Legend's YMMV page(spoilers for Legends BTW):
Fanon Discontinuity: While the series is still well-liked, the fact that the original humanity is extinct, albeit succeeded by humans descended from artificially created humans, makes the Mega Man series feel like a Shoot the Shaggy Dog in hindsight. Some fans like to treat this series as its own universe and not connected to the rest of the Mega Man timeline (which is furthered in some camps by the fact that the bad ending of Mega Man X5 implicates X himself as the founder of Elysium despite the events of the subsequent Mega Man Zero series). DEATH BATTLE! sums it up in their Mega Man Battle Royale when Boomstick is capping off Volnutt's analysis:
Boomstick: WOAH WOAH WOAH! Don't try and pull that "happily ever after" crap! HUMANITY WENT EXTINCT! THE PLANET IS FLOODED! AND THE LAST MEGA MAN IS STUCK IN SPACE FOREVER, BECAUSE LEGENDS 3 IS NEVER GONNA HAPPEN! That peaceful future that Doctor Light fought so hard for turned out to be total bullshit, and if you think about it, it's all his fault! I think most of the example is fine but the Death Battle bit is unnecessary and makes the example look more amateurish and bloated. I understand that this is a pretty old example but still, permission to cut everything after the penultimate sentence of the example please.
