On this site, I've often ran into the problem of not being able to find anything from a giant list of examples on a trope page because it wasn't alphabetically ordered (this is a bigger problem with example pages because they are so large). This can also cause the problem of duplicate works on the same example section, because a work couldn't easily be found.
Even though I'm a rather disorganized person by nature (my parents told me this all the time), I'm still bothered by the lack of A-Z ordering. I have been ordering some example pages A-Z and I've wondering, has this been a problem for anyone else? Is anyone else bothered by a lack of alphabetization on some pages?
If so, please link me some of those pages so I can reorder them when I feel like doing so.
UPDATE 2/28/22- Check Out Sandbox- Alphabetically Ordering Examples Clean Up
Alphabetizing special cases:
- El Goonish Shive: Place in "E".
- .hack and related articles: Ignore the dot, place in "H".
- ×××HOLiC: Place in "X".
Once examples on a page have been alphabetized, this tag can be added to the top:

%% This page has been alphabetized. Please add new examples in the correct order. Thanks!

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Care to sort SI Prefix Name?
I'm back!Don’t know if this is the place for it, but Purposely Overpowered needs to be placed into folders (and alphabetize those folders, of course).
SKREEEEEEEONK!
I have created a thread for pages that need folders:

Kirby is awesome.Alphabetized, folderized, removed ZCEs and added a page image for MonsterClown.Video Games.
Press Start to Game Over could use alphabetizing. Also another trope page I came across recently, but I forget which. Wish I'd made a note of it.
Ridiculous Exchange Rates needs alphabetization.
I'm back!Due to the large amount of video game examples, I created a new page for GatlingGood.Video Games and folderized & alphabetized the games by genre (because guns in games have a lot to do with gameplay). Also added a page image.
It's Popular, Now It Sucks!, Newbie Boom, and Franchise Zombie need alphabetizing.
For the first one, they look alphabetized, but are actually not fully alphabetized as tropers kept adding new examples on the bottom of each folder.
For the latter two, the examples are not sorted at all by alphabet.

Kirby is awesome.Actor Shipping needs to be alphabetizing. None of the folders are alphabetized. I plan too. But I could use some help.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadGlad I'm not the only one who hates the lack of alphabetisation! One thing I hate is when I launch a TLP draft and then when other tropers add examples, it's not in alphabetical order!
For every low there is a high.Anyone else think we should alphabetize the DMOS pages? Much easier to find specific works if they're not just randomized.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI strongly agree. It makes finding particular works much easier.
Kirby is awesome.Ambiguously Human is still not in alphabetical order even though I added a "This page is in alphabetical order" notice!
For every low there is a high.So anyone want to help with Alphabetizing the Actor Shipping page? I have never exactly done this before and am not sure of how this works. Plus it's a large page.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI just did the best I could on Actor Shipping for right now. Needed to make two pages to do so, as the film and tv ones where way to long to navigate otherwise. Still some folders need to be alphabetized.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI have contributed to alphabetizing quite a few pages, and I have a question.
When you're sorting examples by work titles, do you automatically also group them under a franchise, even if there is only one example?
For instance, if there is a The Phantom Menace example in the "Film — Live-Action" folder, do you leave it in P, or automatically move it to S for Star Wars?
In my experience, people alphabetize individual Star Wars movies as (for example) "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace". So under S.
I'm not sure if this applies to franchises in general, now that I think about it...

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. There's an example that doesn't cite a specific work but refers to "some comics" and a few characters. Should that go at the end of the folder?
I feel like franchise/series is the neater way to do it, but some examples only refer to a specific work, not the entire verse.

What's the example?
If a franchise itself has many examples due to its constituent parts themselves having many examples, all of the examples in a given franchise could be in its own folder.
Using the Phantom Menace example, if it and other Star Wars media have many examples, then they could all be put inside the Star Wars folder, especially given that Star Wars consists of not only films but other media as well.
Kirby is awesome.Y'all prefer to do a whole page at a sitting, or would multiple edits be okay?
Yeah, ok.
