This is a thread for checking up on pages for works that have not been released yet, to make sure that they are not straying into rampant speculation or posting crazy behind the scenes spoilers. You can bring both individual examples or entire pages to attention here.
In extreme cases, any page can be locked, but hopefully that won't be necessary.
(As these pages often are hit with zero-context examples and shoehorning as well, all four - speculation, spoilers, ZCEs, and shoehorning may get addressed simultaneously.)
The policy governing this effort is Creating A Work Page For An Unreleased Work. Cleanup is being tracked using the Unreleased Works sandbox.
All pages for unreleased works should include a %% comment at the top of the page, confirming the policy and linking to this thread and the Administrivia page. It doesn't have to be exactly the same as the example provided here, but this provides a template to work with.
%% Speculative troping is not allowed on TV Tropes.
%%
%% We trope what DOES happen in works, not what MIGHT happen or is LIKELY to happen.
%%
%% For unreleased works where all we have to go on is advertising and other supplemental materials, we have some detailed guidelines, which can be found at Administrivia/CreatingAWorkPageForAnUnreleasedWork.
%%
%% NOTE - these rules also mean that unreleased works should only have one page image, and that image should NOT be changed again until the work is released.
%%
%% If you have questions, please consult the Unreleased Work Speculation Cleanup thread at https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15514631230A64268600
%%
%% Thank you.

Calling the second Crowner item - 13/0 in favor. Early access via Patreon subscription etc. is not treated as a release.

Someone made another page for Transformers One despite there being no tropable materials. I went ahead and added it to the cut list.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I've been keeping this hidden for a long while, but looking at the sandbox, I've noticed that are a lot of "upcoming" works (namely at the third category) that don't even exist at all. As in, searching them up online leads to either unrelated works or non-works with similar names or almost nothing, and it makes me wonder if these "works" are even real at all. Case in point, Soft Soap and UwU are listed as UWs despite neither work having even so much as an article.
One other thing, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt (the mobile game, not the upcoming anime) was released two years ago (November 15, 2022) and ceased operations three months ago (January 11, 2024), but is still listed on Release Date Less Work Descriptions. Should we remove the game from there?
"The name's Uzume Tennouboshi! Yeah, it's pretty badass, I know." - Uzume, Megadimension Neptunia VIIBumping
"The name's Uzume Tennouboshi! Yeah, it's pretty badass, I know." - Uzume, Megadimension Neptunia VIIYeah, that sandbox needs help.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Sounds like Hades II is in early release, although with some levels missing.
We'd normally treat this as "released", but not sure if the missing pieces complicate that?
Have we made a decision on Steam Early Access games before? In general anyone can purchase and play them exactly the same way as a "finished" game so I'd argue to just allow it. If anything changes later, page can be changed to account for that. Not really that different to a fully-released game getting content updates.
Yep. The guidance on Administrivia (here) is:
- If the general public can simply pay extra for early access to the work, that generally counts as a release. There may be exceptions when the price is extremely high and/or early access is only available for a limited number of people. These can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
I don't think we considered early access to a partial work, but I guess that's no different to early access to Episode One of an ongoing series?
We've troped early access games plenty of times. Minecraft comes to mind.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Also see this post, and there was another conversation on the topic somewhere.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupVideoGame.Athenian Rhapsody is supposed to come out today, and I've made a draft for the game's demo. However, this demo is considered to be a spin-off as opposed to part of the main game, so I'm not sure if any of the tropes I've collected for it will actually be in the game (and I can't currently afford to get the game). What should I do in this situation?
Avatar by Butterscotch Arts. Used under license. Will the demo remain publicly available?
If so, and we're considering it as part of the same work rather than something separate, I think we'd still be good to launch - in the same way that we can launch a page for an episodic work when only the first chapter is released.
If we're considering it a separate work, it may warrant another page.
If it's being pulled and will no longer be publicly available... that gets complicated.
Was there ever a discussion on Megalopolis? There’s no wide release yet and the film is supposed to be showing at Cannes in two days.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. The game just came out and the spin-off (which is listed on Steam as a separate product) is still up, so I think it'll stay up. Also, apparently there's another demo that isn't listed separately; that one is also still available.
Edit: On second thought, if the game is out now, this might not be a question for this thread anymore.

Avatar by Butterscotch Arts. Used under license. Some of the VideoGame.Honkai Impact3rd sub pages have the following comment:
Global lags at least one full version behind CN and SEA.
Please DO NOT post story or character tropes which are spoilers until the version where they occur is released to Global.
Thank you!
Given that we're an international site and a release in any country counts as released, should this be replaced with a warning that hidden spoilers may be for releases that aren't global yet?
Not troping things because they're only released in one region seems to go against the policy.
Yes, warnings like this shouldn't be allowed.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupTabletop RPG Hollows launches for crowdfunding on Backerkit in the next few weeks, but has a free quickstart edition available now.
The download link is on Backerkit, but available to everyone, with no need to pay or sign up.
Does that count as a release, do we think? Or closer to the video game playable demo scenario?
Beetlejuice Beetle Juice has a note on Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome speculating that Lydia's father won't appear because of real life issues with his original actor. Should that be deleted?
Cut the speculation as to why. But if the tombstone is confirmed then, subject to Never Trust a Trailer it may be ok to list.
Well, it is a sandbox; keeping it updated isn't strictly mandatory (nor is using it in the first place).
