Vote "Not Useful Note", and if there are enough votes there, then discuss what happens to the page?
Either way, having one giant catch-all omnibus crowner isn't a workable solution. Whether the question is "cut / don't cut" or "Useful Note / not-a-Useful Note," there's still the question of, "okay, so if we're not cutting / declaring it okay to stay as a Useful Note, what ARE we doing with it" which will require its own individual crowner.
I still think that handling the pages one-by-one a la the The Grand Unified Appearance Trope Clean-up is the best solution I've heard.
My mind came across Dada for some related reason. It just came to me now after thinking of my query where Art Nouveau wasn't considered a Useful Note, but an art genre. After the rewicking, I thought of whether Dada should be a genre.

ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔I'm not sure if Dada is a genre instead of a cooperative effort of artists. The genre seems to be Surrealism, but if it is a distinct genre, it should be in the Main namespace so it can index works in the genre.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Dada predates, and gave rise to, surrealism.
My question with all of these art genres is that genres pages list and index works on the wiki. That makes sense in concept, but in practice, how many works of art do we have in the Dada genre that are tropable and have pages here? (Answer: 0, as far as I can tell. All of the fourteen works of Art with their own pages are classical/realist.)
I feel like the relevance of Dada (and many art movements) to this wiki is more the vague influence they've had on other types of media, which seems more the province of Useful Notes.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"I've brought up splitting Self-Harm into UsefulNotes.Self Harm because the description reads like a UN already. When I made a TLP about that, the response was that it wasn't needed because it wasn't relevant to the site. So what's the point in pages like UsefulNotes.Suicide, UsefulNotes.Depression, UsefulNotes.Bipolar Disorder, etc that deal with mental health?
Likewise, the consensus in TRS is that Hollywood Personality Disorders is a bad page that should be replaced with Useful Notes. Personality disorders are listed under List Of Shows That Need Summary, but no one has made any TLP's yet. I'd like to make a few sometime but this needs resolving first.

- Interesting. Yeah, if we're gonna have UsefulNotes.Suicide, then we should parallel it to similar topics, I feel.
I just came here to talk about cutting weird Useful Notes that are lists of works, like the ones I talked about here...

Or better yet, why not just use the redirect Autism? A large portion of autistic people disagree with functioning labels anyway; the current page feels like an artifact from several years ago.

I agree that List Of Films You Should See By The Age Of 14 and Must See Movies Before You Grow Up are not appropriate for the wiki (at least the latter doesn't index works), and should be cut.
I agree that High-Functioning Autism should be swapped with Autism. Link to TRS threads in project mode here.
The page for the Sri Lankan Civil War is very interesting and all, but the formatting could use some work. At the very least add some page breaks with headings, say, and break up the giant paragraphs, which become tiring to read without such a break (the twelfth paragraph is way too massive, for example. It fills up half the screen vertically on my 2560x1440 monitor).
My troper wallAccording to some on ATT, UsefulNotes.Avoiding Sexual Harassment should probably be cut.
Agreed; this is not necessary to understand or create fiction.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand! So apparently, the page is almost two years old now. I agree that it can be cut.
Agreed. We don't need an employee code of conduct for a workplace that doesn't exist.
Cut it. It's a weird page that, even ignoring the material, is poorly written and unhelpful.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessPM-ed the troper who wrote the page for their input.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!UsefulNotes.OIF Challenged Books List seems to be a misuse of Useful Notes namespace.
Similar lists are allowed but only if they are published in some form (if there are books, it goes under Literature/ etc.) and if the work page lists some tropes.
Can I put this one on cutlist?
^ - I don't know if we should gather awards of works, but when we do, it seems like they're all in Useful Notes...
See Awards Index... Which maybe should be moved to Useful Notes?
Suggesting we cut out all UsefulNotes. The Far East stuff out its Super-Page, UsefulNotes.Asia, and let the sub-page handle all that.
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Avoiding Sexual Harassment has been cut.
I found UsefulNotes.Adam Sandler Media Actors. I know we had that issue about Franchise Actors, but at least appearing in a common work like Harry Potter or the MCU is more noteworthy than appearing in works made by Adam Sandler, which have nothing to do with each other.
Similar pages like Stephen King Media Actors and Jules Verne Media Actors exist.

Abuse has bits that are on-mission but is largely off-mission and addressed in second person, for instance:
- Breaking down myths and conceptions about real life things "you" may mistakenly belief about abuse
- In some sections, "you" are a reader who has presumably experienced abuse
- In others, "you" have unrealistic ideas about addressing, avoiding, or preventing abuse
- Real-life warning signs that "you" are being abused, someone "you" know is being abused, or someone "you" know may become abusive towards "you"
- How "you" can get help (not an inherently bad thing to include, mind you!)
- A bibliography of print and online writing about abuse
- Tropes are mentioned only occasionally to debunk them
I think it needs a major revamp to focus on media depictions, and explain how tropes are or aren't Truth in Television, perhaps highlight patterns in their use and audience reactions over time? (ex. 1960s James Bond slapping and 1980s action heroes roughly handling women play veeerrrrryy differently these days)
Covered in Star Wars Cleanup, Deadpool, and Web Video sand. I'm not coarse and rough, but I get everywhere.Anime Theme Song reads like a Useful Notes page, so should it be moved to that namespace?
Keet cleanup
Hypothetically, if one believed that a given page had no value in any form and should just be cut, which one of those options should be selected?
