This thread is for questions regarding creating or cutting pages in Franchise/ namespace and Franchise Index.
As a reminder, being a Series Franchise doesn't mean a Work can have a Franchise/ page. For that it needs existing (not Red Link) and connected (official releases for the same trademark) Work pages in 3 different Mediums, not 3 pages for the same property in general.
If it doesn't meet those criteria, the section about related releases can be on page of the first installment.
For instance, Video Games. Take a look at this page. I guarantee that we don't even have that many listed in the Franchise namespace.
Also, I set up Franchise pages for Duke Nukem, Deer Hunter, and Grand Theft Auto.
Wouldn't it be more appropriate to list multiple games in a Franchise page as opposed to a Video Game page?

I am for them counting as two different personally. We don't count Live action TV and films as the same space. I don't see why we should with the animated equivalent. Though, I also have no strong opinion on it either way personally.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI feel they probably shouldn’t be counted separately unless they have different namespaces.
Rightly or wrongly, the current policy counts by namespace. So, as long as animated films and shows share the same namespace, they only count as one of the three.
Whereas something with works in Animation/ and other works in WesternAnimation/ or Anime/ would count as two.
I believe this is partly because we can put disambiguation / umbrella pages within the namespace itself for that scenario, as we do for a Series Franchise.
Fair points. Like I said it I have no strong feelings about it either way.
Any feedback on this?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThe page is currently for the expanded universe for Warcraft, not the entirety of Warcraft.
It could definitely be reworked into a franchise page for the entirety if need be.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Fair. I guess my question is, why go straight to the expanded universe first and not it as a whole? Like I know Star Wars has a separate franchise for the expanded universe, but it still has one for the whole franchise.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadWould it be a good idea to make a Franchise.Usagi Yojimbo. It has the following media spaces:
- ComicBook.Usagi Yojimbo
- VideoGame.Samurai Warrior The Battles Of Usagi Yojimbo
- WesternAnimation.Samurai Rabbit The Usagi Chronicles
Maybe it'd be better as a disambig.
Hello. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to make a franchise page for the multi-media franchise Touken Ranbu? I think it fits the rule of having multiple namespaces
VideoGame.Touken Ranbu Warriors

Where is the third namespace for Franchise.A3? I could only find Theatre and Video Game.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI don't see one, but there are anime examples mixed into the Franchise trope list that could be split off to their own page.
Monopoly and Usagi Yojimbo look fine to have Franchise pages, too.

(response to [1], re Franchise.Law And Order)
This is the Law & Order franchise, not the John Munch franchise. Homicide: The Movie is quite obviously the movie of Munch's debut series, Homicide: Life on the Street, and barring Munch's presence has no links to L&O.
(For that matter, Homicide itself is shoehorned onto the page via Munch.)
Not familiar with the franchise, so I'll have to take your word for that.
I noticed the movie Exiled had a recap page with examples, so I've split off the examples to a Film page: Exiled: A Law & Order Movie.
Any help with spoiler tag adjustments would be appreciated. (Crossposting to the Violations of the Spoiler Policy thread)
I'm not convinced this is legitimately a film and not an Extra-Long Episode disguised as one. This is why I wanted a Wiki Talk thread on the matter of "films which aren't films".
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Would Grand theft Auto be worth a franchise page? On top of the video games and radio namespaces, you have the docudrama based on it Film. The Gamechangers.
I am a bit confused on what the problem is with counting that as a film. It was filmed and released as a stand alone television film. I feel like it is fine to have it in the film namespace.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadIt's a documentary without official endorsement from Rockstar, so I doubt it's part of the series.
I, for one, am noticeably against animated films counting separately.
