Something that's happened to me more often than not is that when I go to a Youtube channel page and quickly go to their video section, their channel video starts and continues to play. I can only assume this is because I'm doing this too fast.
Another day, another Minecraft video that is in the related videos sidebar after an unrelated video finishes playing. Specifically, one autoplayed (at 3 hours, damn) after a video about RWBY. I know Rooster Teeth was known for their Minecraft Let's Plays and RWBY but YouTube's algorithm did that because it felt like it.

"Some people are damaged. Some people are really damaged. And then... some people are broken."You can turn off autoplay.
Am kinda annoyed you need to at least watch up to 10 seconds for a video to register as Last Played.
It kind of makes sense for me, if I look at a video and suddenly decide that it's not for me, so not having it registered in my history helps.
You can just move the bar or use the play videos from the thumbnail feature...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. That is actually more practical for me especially since I do not always feel like watching a video,
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."Considering that YouTube defaults to previewing videos when you hover or scroll over them, having every single one of those show up in my history and affect my recommendations would be a pain in the goddamn ass.
You can turn off the automatic features, and I highly recommend doing so.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I don't think thumbnail previews count even if they played?
If you change the bar it does, not just letting it play...apparently.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Forgive the stupid question, but YouTuber Chip Cheezum counts as a relevant subject matter, right?
Because he just revealed that he's now working with Remedy Entertainment as a Senior Video Artist!
Great for him! (What's a senior video artist, anyway?)
Has anyone other than me seen that one Parasite Eve video pop up in their related videos sidebars? (or saw it ready to autoplay)
Lampshade Hanging ensued from the creator of that video. Probably aware of how weird the YouTube algorithm has been lately. At least the era of Squick thumbnails for Squick videos seem to be over.
"Some people are damaged. Some people are really damaged. And then... some people are broken."It used to be that videos would autoplay even when opened in new tabs, which was a real pain. I had to install a plugin to stop Youtube from doing that back in the day. Not sure if that is still a thing.
Optimism is a duty.It doesn't happen anymore, and I can't remember how long ago it did. I honestly don't remember it being a problem, but it's definitely not one now. I open videos in new tabs all the time to watch later.
Firefox specifically prevents it from happening, so I don't know if it's still a problem on other browsers. But every time I open a new tab it says "autoplay blocked."
I use Chrome and it just doesn't autoplay.
I can't really tell when since I use a plugin that makes YT better.
I'm fairly sure Firefox implemented that for exactly that reason. It was a real hassle for a while.
I think they used to start as soon as you looked at the tab, come to think of it. It was something like that.
Optimism is a duty.Am I the only one that is seeing massive amounts of Minecraft videos pushed by the algorithm? They just crop up now in autoplay without even seeing them in the related videos sidebar.

"Some people are damaged. Some people are really damaged. And then... some people are broken."I really don't see that much Minecraft content. Honestly, most of what Youtube recommends to me is pretty understandable given what I do watch.
How. I was watching Splatoon videos one time and them boom, Minecraft videos. Granted, both Inklings and Steve were in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate but that's a stretch for the algorithm to make.
"Some people are damaged. Some people are really damaged. And then... some people are broken."I don't know. I use the "Not Interested" option to make things that I don't want to see go away a lot, making sure to mark the "I don't like the video" reason.
That's only because people log into their YouTube accounts to browse the site (I don't). I guess this is a sign that I should start using the YouTube account that's being left barely used as well for browsing.
Based on the wording on your response... yeah...
Might have to change how I watch YouTube.

"Some people are damaged. Some people are really damaged. And then... some people are broken."
It's like whenever my video reaches the double digits in views, like say it reached up to 10 views, the view count automatically resets to 0. This is like the first time this is happening to my videos.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!
