Inspired by this thread, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

So, I have a question about this entry on YMMV.Mortal Kombat 1:
- Questionable Casting: Megan Fox as Nitara. Not unlike when Ronda Rousey was cast as Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat 11, fans have mostly seen her as a famous actor WB can boast about being on the project over someone who actually fits the character. Fox's acting as Nitara is rather wooden and stiff, which stands out poorly in a game where everyone else is a Large Ham with extra seasoning. It's so awkward in fact, some people are even saying she is worse than Rousey was as Sonya, due to the fact that Fox is a professional actress who has starred in major movies, making her performance far less excusable than Rousey's. Cristina Valenzuela, an experienced voice actress, performs Nitara's battle grunts and death screams, and many thought the developers should have had her voice the character altogether rather than relying on Stunt Casting with Fox. In fact, many people have even stated they believe AI-generated voicebanks using Fox's voice give a better performance than she does!
I think she counts but the parts I highlighted seem bashy to me, especially the last sentence. Is it just me?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYeah those are definitely bashing. Cut
This also sound like bashing to me judging from the highlight messages so yeah cut.

not only is it bashy, the way the entry praises the AI voice replacement feels kind of especially spiteful. trim with prejudice.
Stan GaruKaru for clear skinWomen Are Wiser has this:
- Played ridiculously straight in this commercial for some sort of oven cleaning product. From the woman standing in the background with what can only be described as a scowl on her face, to the tagline "So easy...even a man could do it!". It's actually rather disgusting.
- Said advert received 663 complaints from men and women (men claiming it portrayed them as idiots, women claiming it supported out-of-date stereotypes regarding women and the kitchen). Amazingly, they were not upheld - which sparked backlash from people saying an opposite advert would be shot down immediately. The Daily Mail had a field day.
Complaining and natter all together. Any idea on how to rewrite this?
The best character is always the one-shot disguise.Honestly, I'd cut that example entirely. I'm failing to see how it even fits the trope in question beyond what appears to be a potshot at best and borderline misandry at worst.
I would mention that its played for laughs, at least.
It's definitely an example, just a stupid one. A bit more detail on how the man in the ad acts and the last line and second paragraph being cut would suffice.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Should we cut the page quote for Josh Groban? Even if its a Self-Deprecation moment from Groban himself, I still think it counts as bashing.
IDK about bashing (Self-Deprecation should be treated differently than like, a reviewer quote) but it doesn't say much about Groban as a creator so it's useless to me.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I don't know where else to put this, but there seems to be a slight edit war so I'm putting it here just in case.
The Characters.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem and YMMV.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem pages can't seem to agree on which turtle is the youngest: Donatello or Michelangelo. Somebody tried removing the mention of Donnie being the youngest on the Character page but it was re-added recently.
The discrepancy doesn’t seem to have been fixed. Is there a specific forum for problems like this?
Ryoko.Maybe ask the Fact Checking Thread?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Question asked. Thanks.
Ryoko.- Creator Killer: The mixed reviewer reception and the universally negative player reception eventually led to Volition — who had already been teetering on the edge after Agents of Mayhem under-performed critically and commercially — closing its doors in 2023, after a year worth of content updates, with the series publisher Deep Silver retaining the rights to the Saints Row franchise. It also doesn't help that they openly insulted longtime fans who were critical of the reboot on twitter.
Isn’t the last sentence drama importation? It doesn't have anything to do with their closure, unlike say their owners, the Embracer Group, having a $2 billion investment they were relying on to keep afloat after quickly buying up a lot of companies falling through, which the example doesn't mention for some reason.

Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread! The last sentence is tangential enough to the rest of the example that I think it can be cut.
Alright then. I'll also fit the Embracer Group's failing to get investment somewhere in there too.

Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread! From YMMV.The Simpsons:
- Fan Nickname:
- "Jerkass Homer" is the nickname that fans of the classic episodes give to post-Flanderization Homer. Lampshaded in "Mommie Beerest" when Homer says, "Duh, that's me! Jerkass Homer!" and again in "E. Pluribus Wiggum" with "Jerkass Homer brand cigars."
- Similarly, "Zombie Simpsons" for the post-classic seasons.
These seem like Detractor Nicknames instead.
The Jerkass Homer one has at least been acknowledged in-universe, so I can understand that one being kept. The other one not so much.
"Zombie Simpsons" belongs in FranchiseZombie.Western Animation.
Kirby is awesome.I would argue that those are more memes than fan nicknames. Even if they have been discredited in recent years.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI say cut them for being Detractor Nicknames. Whether they belong in a different section is another issue.
Even if they're detracting nicknames, the Jerkass Homer mention deserves to stay simply because it was acknowledged. Remember that while we try to keep negativity at bay, it also doesn't mean we should discard legitimate audience reactions.
But Fan Nickname explicitly disallows "detractor nicknames".
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI removed them.
Just cut the last two sentence and i think the example works well enough as is.
