Warning! Unmarked spoilers below.

A galaxy far far away is home to a plethora of Big Goods. Many of them either are, or are connected to the Jedi, especially their well-known leaders, Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Additionally, some of these heroes consist of noble leaders, ambassadors and benevolent rulers.

    Comic Books
  • Admiral Gar Stazi is the Big Good for the Galactic Alliance Remnant in Star Wars: Legacy.
  • In The High Republic Adventures, Grand Master Yoda teaches the younglings and padawans aboard about the Force while providing aid to planets along the galactic frontier as the Republic and Jedi Order returned to previously isolated regions of the Outer Rim.
  • Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith: The comic The Burning Seas has a unique case of a Big Good Wannabe in the form of Lee-Char.

    Films
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda in the classic trilogy are opposed both thematically and in characterization to Darth Vader and The Emperor respectively, the last remnants of the Jedi Order, and are both The Mentor to Luke.
  • Yoda and Mace Windu in the prequel trilogy, being the leaders of the still extant Jedi Council. In Episode 1 Chancellor Valorum tries for this, but is quickly deposed of by pre-Emperor Palpatine.
  • Padmé Amidala served as one for the Naboo as Queen Amidala back in The Phantom Menace. Interestingly enough, most of the appearances of "Queen Amidala" were actually her decoy Sabé, while Padmé herself participated in the Battle of Naboo disguised as a handmaiden.
  • Bail Organa was one of the driving forces behind the formation of the Rebel Alliance and started working to subvert the Empire the day Order 66 was issued. Bail remained in this role for the Rebellion until his death on Alderaan.
  • The Rebels have Mon Mothma leading their political side, and Admiral Ackbar leading their military side.
    • Mon Mothma becomes the leader of the Rebel Alliance following the death of co-founder Bail. She continues this role as the leader of the New Republic following the Battle of Endor.
    • Admiral Gial Ackbar is the captain of the Mon Calamari defense force in The Clone Wars. He also acts as this for the Rebel fleet in Return of the Jedi by leading the assault on the Death Star II. Likewise, Ackbar acts as the mentor to Prince Lee-Char, helping him to find his feet as a ruler and learn how to effectively lead his people into battle.
  • The Force Awakens:
    • General Leia Organa serves as the leader of the heroic Resistance.
    • Luke Skywalker himself becomes the Big Good in the Sequel Trilogy Era. His presence holds significant gravity over the story arcs of many of the characters, and much of what happens is a result of his actions in prior years, making him a Greater-Scope Paragon for the time period. Ultimately, due to expending all of his energy saving the Resistance at Crait, he can no longer be an active member on the field so to speak, but his presence in the Force and that same sacrifice re-ignites people's hope and faith in the Resistance itself.

    Literature
  • Star Wars Legends continuity:
    • Luke Skywalker in the post-Endor media. According to George Lucas's Word of God Anakin had the potential to become far more powerful than Emperor Palpatine, but due to his injuries on Mustafar had difficulty realizing that potential during his lifetime. Luke inherits that power and finally lives up to the potential meant for his father, henceforth reaching the status of the most powerful Force User. A lot of emphasis is placed on Luke's status as a moral and intellectual role model for the Jedi, and even the larger Republic as a whole. He is faced with temptation and the possibility of being corrupted by evil, just as his father was, but he turns away from it and holds on to his morals and strength of character. He reforms the failings of the old Jedi Order, and redeems his father's sins by doing his best to amend the damage done by Anakin.
    • Luke and the other Heroes of Yavin - basically the main heroic characters of the films - in Galaxy of Fear, especially the last half of the series where our heroes are on the run from the Empire. They want to meet back up with the most high-ranking Rebels they'd yet met, in the hopes of finding safety, but it's easier said than done.
    • Lina Soh is the Big Good for the Republic, ushering in a new golden age for the government after centuries of fighting for survival and rebuilding following the last war against the Sith.
    • Jedi Grand Master Pra-Tre Veter shares the role with Chancellor Lina Soh in Phase I of The High Republic, as he is the most active and involved Grand Master in the main plotlines due to Yoda's sabbatical from the council.
    • Kyong Greylark and Orlen Mollo share the role in Phase II of The High Republic, leading the Republic in a tumultuous era of pioneering. After Greylark relinquishes her Chancellorship to deliberately lower her value as a hostage to the Path of the Open Hand, he becomes the sole Chancellor.
    • Supreme General Ba'kif is one of the highest ranking military authorities in the Ascendancy and in comparison to the Syndicure Ba'kif is far more concerned with keeping peace not just for the Chiss, but their neighbors as well.
  • Star Wars: The Old Republic: Annihilation: Satele Shan and Jace Malcom share the role, as the Grand Master of the Jedi Order and the Supreme Commander of the Republic's military forces respectively. Satele in particular owns the role in the final stretch of the story, persuading Jace to commit Republic forces to the defense of Duro.
  • Star Wars: Cult Encounters and Supernatural Encounters: Wutzek, Elegast, and Horliss Horliss all take their turns in this role, though none of them ever quite get what makes mortals tick. The Maker is the Greater-Scope Paragon.

    Live-Action TV
  • The Mandalorian:
    • After making his Heel–Face Turn during Season 2, Greef Karga takes up the Big Good mantle, as basically the guy/magistrate running Nevarro. Under his efforts (plus Cara's Marshal duties), they've managed to convert Nevarro, slowly but surely, into a place where families and regular citizens can live, trade, and even educate their kids. He also readily gives Din an offer of credit for the badly needed repairs to the Razor Crest (albeit not for free, he's got a town to run).
    • Lady Bo-Katan Kryze is perceived as such by the Mandalorians who follow her because they genuinely believe that she can unite them all and rebuild Mandalore under her rule. She is especially sustained by the Armorer and Din.
  • In his eponymous TV series, Obi-Wan Kenobi is clearly seen as the Big Good by Bail, Breha Organa and Haja. It's why the Empire has been hunting him for the past 10 years, and why they fear him so much. By the end of the series, he has returned to himself and embraced this role, having defeated Vader a second time and rediscovered peace.
  • In Andor, Luthen Rael is slowly revealed to be the mastermind of the Rebel Alliance as a concept and active organization working against the Empire. With his own resources, connections and determination, he rallies the likes of Mon Mothma, Cassian Andor and even Saw Gerrera under his banner to lead the charge in taking down the Empire, paving the way for future heroes like Luke Skywalker to take the reins.

    Video Games
  • The Old Republic has the role split between Satele Shan and Dorian Janarus.
    • The former fills the role as the Grand Master of the Jedi Council. She's also one for the Republic, being the Reasonable Authority Figure that Saresh is not.
    • The latter is the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic right before he releases info of the truth of the Bounty Hunter's innocence to the public and takes responsibility for Jun Seros' actions, ensuring that he will at the very least be thrown out of office.
    • Despite being more of a General Ripper, Saresh replaces Janarus as the new Big Good; as she rises to the Supreme Chancellor position after what happens to Janarus. Although, considering what happens in Shadow of Revan, it might be more accurate to call her a Big Good Wannabe.
  • Uprising: As the leader of the Nobles, Her Majesty is the de-facto head of the Uprising against Governor Adelhard's Iron Blockade.
  • Master Eno Cordova takes up the Big Good mantle in Fallen Order. He is the one who laid the path to his holocron that drives the plot of the game, and though he appears to be deceased, he still advises Cal from beyond the grave and provides him the pep talk he needs during his Darkest Hour. He is revealed to be alive in the sequel, and co-leads the Path outpost on Jedha.
  • Hera Syndulla serves as the Big Good in her appearance in Squadrons, being the highest-ranked member of the New Republic that Vanguard Squadron answers to, with her opposite on the Imperial side being Grand Admiral Rae Sloane.

    Western Animation
  • The Clone Wars: Like in the original films, the role is split between Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
    • Yoda serves as the proactive Big Good of the story. One episode emphasizes this by showing that he is on a mission to negotiate with King Katuunko in order to prove the Jedi are strong enough to protect the king and his people from the forces of the Clone Wars so that Toydaria can join the Galactic Republic, and eventually succeeds. Also, Yoda shows that he is still an extremely powerful Jedi Master, as he easily takes on the droid army by himself.
    • Obi-Wan Kenobi also fulfills the role as the High Jedi General for the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. His importance to the war was unprecedented, as he is a key factor to a great number of the Republic's victories. Aside from his skills in battle, Obi-Wan Kenobi also possesses extraordinary skills as a diplomat, with solutions that ended battles without fighting.
    • Commander Rex becomes the Big Good for the Clones in The Bad Batch. Even though he's a Reg, he's the main leading heroic clone whom even Clone Force 99 looks up to and rallies behind.
  • Rebels:
    • Ahsoka Tano serves as the Big Good to the Ghost crew before losing to Vader on Malachor. She's a spymaster working with a number of rebel cells and coordinating their efforts.
    • Commander Jun Sato is the Big Good of the Phoenix Squadron, being the highest ranking officer on the front lines on a regular basis.
  • Resistance: Imanuel Doza is the leading figure for the good guys in the Colossus.

    Other Media
  • Visions: In The Ninth Jedi, Margrave Juro takes up the role as he genuinely intends to restore the Jedi Order despite his sinister-looking appearance, and most of the Jedi he summoned are actually undercover Sith who came to kill him.
  • Star Tours: The Adventures Continue: One of the Rebel Alliance's leadership appears in a transmission to the Starspeeder, telling them where to deliver the Rebel spy. Depending on the flight it can either be Yoda, Princess Leia, or Admiral Ackbar. As of 2015, this can also be BB-8 acting on behalf of the Resistance (presumably), and the conversation mostly consists of him and R2-D2 beeping and chirping at each other, with C-3PO translating. Updates for The Last Jedi added Poe Dameron and Maz Kanata as Resistance contacts, and The Rise of Skywalker added Lando Calrissian.
