Dan has pointed out the NFT crash around the release of his video is coincidental, but not random.

Crypto always has a minor crash in Q1 of a given year, as the influx of new money from the holidays dies out suddenly. Dan mentioned he specifically aimed to release his video to coincide with that. NFTs had already been on the downswing before Dan's video came out, with a lot of high profile projects and big company announcing forays into NFT then backing out - Dan even lists some in his video. Add the cost of living spike which made investing into ape Jpeg an even more dicey prospect when money's getting tight. Several crypto exchanges dying around them, the collapse of FTX and the arrest of SBF the month before the video came out all primed the downfall of NF Ts by the time Dan's video came out.

Seems to be a confirmation that James is alive and is physically okay, at least.

Hopefully this will be the last of it.

Maybe he'll take this second chance at life to do some introspection.

So, what's your favorite Hbomberguy video that starts out as one thing and then he pulls the rug out under the viewer and turns out it's a whole different rabbithole? You know, like how the plagiarism video was just establishing the case for taking Somerton to task.

My personal favorite is the flat Earth video, where it turns out Dan was really doing a Q Anon video the whole time.^note Okay, sorry. Had to go meta there, couldn't resist. Serious answer for Hbomb is the Somerton switcharoo, but the webcomics where it pivots to using CAD to criticize popular webcomics was a nice touch.

...Oh my God, how have I not seen that comic vid yet after all this time, I should fix it right away.

The OOF sound effect leading into an ever-deeper rabbithole regarding Talarico was a fun one. At first it's just an innocuous dive into the origins of a little sound effect in Roblox, only for the madness that is Tommy "The Tank Engine" Talarico to unravel Harry's sanity with each new bend and twist into Talarico's bizarre and tacky mindset.

To a lesser degree, his anti vaxx video does the same thing, slowly unraveling the general BS Andrew Wakefield got up to

I gotta say, the James Somerton reveal was really well done because of the build up. I knew for a while Illuminaughtii was under his crosshair but then the surprise of how Internet Historian did plagairism had me reeling in despair, because I had been watchinf a bunch of their retelling videos cause they present them in funny ways. And so when they revealed the big bad was about Somerton, I was like..."who?" I had never heard of this guy in my entire life, but thanks to the way hbomb set up his video using the more well known peoples various examples of trickery and bs, he made James look lile the Final Boss of the entire discussion. In short, from someone i never heard of for someone i learned to discuss over the last hour and a half of his presentation

I had never heard of Somerton before either, and I'm kind of glad I never watched any of Somerton's videos before HBomberguy did his piece on him.

I had heard of the other people mentioned before Somerton, and I'm glad I had already made the decision to not watch any of Internet Historian's videos, since some of them had been giving me red flags about the guy.

I vaguely recall clicking on a James Somerton video some time before Hbomberguy's video, but I gave up on it pretty quickly because of how dull and uninteresting I found Somerton's delivery to be.

My experience with Illuminati was similar.

As tends to happen when a youtuber's primary goal is to Produce Content™ with quantity far over quality.

Hbomberguy had a cameo in Caddicarus' latest video (at around 1:00:43) where he "exposes" Caddy's many crimes.

I had never heard of James Somerton prior to Harry's video. But he works as a culmination of the video's first half. The bait and switch with Roblox_oof.mp3 stopped me from watching the video when it was recommended since I had never heard of H Bomber Guy and thought it wasn't interesting enough for a 2 hour watch. But the bait and switch was excellent. Side Note, but I used to watch illuminaughti and Internet Historian but stopped watching the former after the whole drama surrounding her. I feel ashamed, frankly, of watching heavily plagiarized content unknowingly.

I've watched Illuminaughtii, though I stopped when she covered topics I was very familiar with. IIRC it was her video on Q Anon. The info she gave was full of gaps, holes, and since I knew alot about the topic I could tell she didnt know shit about what she was talking about. Which then made me suspicious about how many videos she put out. So I just stopped watching.

She also had this habit of being weirdly defensive which annoyed me in her videos. Like she'd quote someone say something super racist and then pause the video to say that it's not what she believes and it's like "Yeah, I know how quotes work". Or she'd follow a comment saying that the comment is indeed awful. Her habit of doing stuff like that really annoyed me coz it made the pacing of her videos awful.

IH I've watched though he always was full of redflags. If anything it disappoints me coz I had hoped he'd moved away from the edgy far right encouraging humor with more professional stuff like his Costa Concordia video.

Heck, I was a fan of his man in cave video. I thought it was well done. So I guess good work Lucas Reilly, your article really was a banger.

I watched a few of Illuminaughti's videos before, but I was turned off by just how dry and emotionless her delivery was. It made every video I saw kind of a slog to get through.

I want to know why I'm getting recommendations for videos of people reacting to Internet Historian, I thought Harry buried him.

Oh no he had no blowback at all. His totally normal fans didn't care and insisted the entire video was a hit piece against IH despite him being like, not even 20% of it.

Speaking of blowback, apparently Iilluminaughtii finally threw the towel? No new videos in like 2 months.

Yeah, IH was able to weather the controversy by ignoring it and carrying on business as usual while his totally normal fans stonewalled any and all criticism.

That said, I do believe he lost some feathers. His views, even if still extremely strong, are not as astronomical as they were before.

That could just be that his latest topics probably didnt really hit as hard with his audience. three videos about wine, theater and such. Heck, the first of these three videos about theatre came out before Hbomb's video did and it has less views than the video before. The following videos released after Hbomb's video has close to the same views. The newest one is still recent but looks to track for about the same.

I think the more likely reason is his topic just didnt hit with his audience.

I'm pretty sure he lost at least a few viewers due to the video, but mostly it's prolly cuz he's in a slump

So while James Sommerton put up that post about his "suicide" following the fallout of the Plagiarism video, at the same time he renamed his alt account and was horny posting and just basically spectating the reaction. Oh also having sockpuppet arguments with himself.

(Also I recommend not looking up that alt account's posting history less you want to see James Sommerton's ass and balls).
