Got the game. Am downloading the patch. Now I need to decide which "code" to put in my name to unlock a piece of equipment. I think I'm going to take a sword, but I'm not sure if there is one that's stronger than the others. Does the cheat weapon always appear at the very bottom of the weapons list?

Okay, I'm playing the game, but the edges of the screen are cut off. It's like I'm zoomed in too far and am missing the perimeter. I tried fiddling with the settings on the PS4 but those settings don't seem to apply to Bloodstained.

@Drupplesnub Well... there kinda is a way to get by with only getting one Beast Milk drop. You use that Beast Milk to make Heavy Cream, then you buy more Heavy Cream and use Alkahest to turn it into more Beast Milk (and Sugar, but you probably have enough of that). You can technically do this with any recipe that uses Beast Milk, but Heavy Cream is the cheapest to buy from the store post-crafting (plus, as I recall, requires the least amount of Alkahest to produce).

I will agree that this is as onerous as even the best-case farming scenario (which I personally find involves having a maxed Pickpocket as your shard and using the Rhava Bural and otherwise going crazy on a luck build, though I know lots of others favor equipping Augment Luck instead), though it's theoretically much easier (especially since, once you get Augment Luck and Augment Gold, you can do it merely by breaking candles).

To some extent, the weapon types also depends on your luck (like how I was practically drowning in spears, resulting in me relying on those for much of the game)... that said, yeah, rapiers were pretty low on the usefulness scale for me.

As for the tab for the forging of shards... I mean, I found it by monkeying around in the crafting tab myself, when I was on the starting tab and clicked the button to go left from the start (to thus jump to the last page, since it was faster). Also, Johannes does say right from the get-go that he can do alchemy on shards to make new ones.

@Will I'm only familiar with the Steam version. That said, I'm certain someone else here has the PS4 version.

Nevermind. I've fiddled with some stuff on my TV and it's working fine now. I just hope altering the settings doesn't screw something up somewhere else.

that reminds me, all the tutorial dialogue at the start is genuinely helpful. It does a good job trying to tie into the story and also telling you what you need to know without going overboard with explanations.

I just beat Valac, AKA the twin dragon guys. In Curse of the Moon these guys had a second from where they combined into one creature. Do I fight Valac a second time in Ritual, or do they not have that second form in this game?

Even shorter: six words.

COOK. ALL. THE. THINGS. NOM. NOM.

Seriously, though. Cook all the things. Nom nom. You get so much in the way of good boosts out of it, including some you can't get anywhere else like XP boosters and magic regen.

Between maxing out all the Passive Shards and cooking, by end-game, I could basically throw around whatever magic I wanted because I might as well have had INFINITE MANA. That said, I didn't because Flying Daggers is game-breakingly good and there's few reasons to ever use any other spell. That shit even chewed up Bael in like fifteen seconds. It's crazy.

How's the PS4 version? This game is on my to-play list and I want to make sure it runs well.

They all run fine. Even the Switch version had some much needed updates, though of course because of technical reasons, it'll never run as well as PC or PS.

I had read that IGA and co. were majorly screwed by their publisher, so I hope this means something positive for them.

Will this game show Dominique’s Start of Darkness?

Well good to see we’re getting more Zangetsu adventures, even if I’m pulling for a proper ROTN sequel eventually.

Maybe Netflix just makes a Bloodstained adaptation instead.

[up][up] I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if Dominique is the final boss like Zangetsu was. I also would love to hear an 8 bit rendition of Repentence.

Boss Revenge mode is out (and even more color customization). You play as either Andrealphus, Bathin, Bloodless or Gremory and fight through Zangetsu, Dominique and Miriam. It's quite fun, though some are harder to play than others.

So it's out. Anyone get it? I'm probably not going to, didn't find COTM (god, I hate that they use that acronym) worthwhile as I only really got into the series with the Metroidvanias.
