Hmm... I don't think his design alone crosses the line, even if it comes off as squicky. But we need to keep watch on the upcoming episodes. Is he subject to nudity or implied sexual activities?
Keep. This doesn't sound that much worse than Black Butler.
I've scrolled through first 50 chapters of manga and have found zero moments of Lloyd being sexualized, discounting one time he loses pants mid-combat (still obscured). He simply has an androgynous appearance. The manga is quite extremely detailed in horror fantasy battles and suggestive content comes from the battle harem sometimes.
I don't know the anime direction yet.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupFrom what you are saying, there isn't much room for making the anime Hotter and Sexier. So I'm voting keep all for the moment.
As is the case with Gushing Over Magical Girls, I'd rather hold off judgment until the anime finishes airing - there's a chance the MC will get sexualized in a future episode, among other things.
I'm lovin' it. (My Troper Wall)I vote for "let's review when the anime is finished."
At the very least keep the manga. As far as the anime goes. Guess we wait til it's done
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Keep the manga and table the discussion regarding the anime for when it finishes airing.
"Stand proud, Sukuna, you are strong." | He/Him[x] Keep the manga for now per @jlvs200s's rationale.
There's beauty in even the smallest moments.Added an "under review" banner to the work page, with a link to this thread.
Yeah keep. Seems like it's harmless and the anime seems to be going the same direction.

I'll put a keep though. It doesn't really seem that bad
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."No, it won't be over until late June or late September.
I'm lovin' it. (My Troper Wall)Okay let's wait. No need to rush.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."6th episode has aired, so gave them a watch as a double-checker. Aside:
- Lloyd's effeminate general appearance
- Lloyd creating a Naked on Arrival body double obscured by Scenery Censor
- Lloyd's maid squad (all adults) getting into occasional non-explicit Fanservice, like Public Bathhouse Scene or Clothing Damage
Yeah, I strongly recommend we start voting on this now. I'm voting keep.
I'm lovin' it. (My Troper Wall)I'm still voting keep everything.
Keep everything
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Unless I've been misinterpreting it the whole time I've always viewed the Mr/Ms Fanservice tropes as much lighter than its internet usage. The trope can be used for SFW characters in kid shows like PPG's Sara Bellum while fanservice generally refers to NSFW content to nicher internet communities.
Keep
Absolute destiny... apeachalypse?I'll vote keep on this for now.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Keep. If something rule-violating happens later we can reopen the discussion.
Yeah, with all the discussion, the manga is perfectly fine and the anime doesn't seem to have any signs of violating the Content Policy as well. Shelve this unless either the manga or the anime violate Content Policy in the future.

Reporting on pedobait concerns. This has an anime adaptation that just started airing and it is suspicious, to say the least. The main character (Lloyd) is a 10-year-old boy who is designed in a ludicrously feminine manner, and is apparently regularly sexualized. From the trope page:
And from the characters page, Lloyd's folder:
What brought it to my attention were reactions to the first episode's airing in MyAnimeList. Some choice comments:
I've read similar comments on Reddit as well.
In its defense, according to our very own Spring 2024 anime thread, the original light novels are apparently less bad about this stuff than the manga and anime, so this may be one of those cases where some form of the work can be kept but not the other(s).
But otherwise, its prospects aren't looking good.
