As seen in the Do we have a project to disambig works? Ask The Tropers, there are many works pages that seem to need disambigs, by virtue of sharing names and having no differentiation.
This thread is for the discussion and listing of what to do about such pages.
See here for a list of needed disambigs.
The List
- Film.The Lost World
- Series.Utopia
- Series.Kidnapped (2006 NBC Cop Show) (20 wicks)
- Series.The Street
- VideoGame.Star Wars Battlefront
- VideoGame.Star Wars Battlefront II
- WesternAnimation.Fantasia
- WesternAnimation.Max Steel
Similar Issues
- Then there is pages like The Host which is for the Korean film but has a bunch of wicks referring to the adaptation of The Host.
- Ransom: YMMV.Ransom only has Film entries, but Characters.Ransom is trying to be a disambig to Characters.Ransom Film and Characters.Ransom TV... Trivia.Ransom needs to be split.
- Film.Deadlands is conflicting with the Tabletop Game. Maybe move to its redirect, Film. The Dead Lands?
- Series. The Untouchables: It's holding multiple versions in there...

Just stumbled across an issue with Commando.
The page for ComicBook.Commando says the comics are colloquially known as Commando Comics, are currently called Commando For Action and Adventure, and were formerly Commando War Stories in Pictures. I'm leaning towards a rename to ComicBook.Commando Comics.
Film.Commando and VideoGame.Commando were both released in 1985 but are unrelated. What do we do in cases where two works with the same name were released in the same year but are unrelated?
VideoGame.Commando Capcom is an option (because the page is technically for the series), which frees up year-disambiguation for Film.Commando 1985.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. This is something that came up a while back but should probably be brought up.
There are two live action films released in 2012 called deranged. A British slasher film which has a page and South Korean one which does not.
That would be all well and good but the Korean film has a Complete Monster listed who was approved before the British film had a page. Meaning that on Monster.Film D To E deranged is potholed to the British one despite being for the Korean one.
It was suggested that we should take the discussion here but nothing ever came of it. One suggestion was Deranged South Korea, but what should we do about it?

In honor of Akira ToriyamaFound a mix up for the self-demonstrating article Witchfinder General, which is related to the Atun-Shei video series The Witchfinder-General and NOT the unrelated British film Witchfinder General of which it has a similar name (and missing the 'the') and shares a namespace.
I don't know if this is truly the place to resolve this devilry but the two works are titled similarly and its understandable how that could have been confused.
AMA about my unfinished writing projectsCreator.Thomas Dekker is for the modern actor, not the 17th century playwright (who worked with John Webster, William Shakespeare etc).
Any objection if we move him to Creator.Thomas Dekker Actor, create Creator.Thomas Dekker Playwright and use Creator.Thomas Dekker as a disambig?
Or is there a better way to handle it?
And with apologies for the double post...
Theatre.Art clashes with Art
Move the play to Theatre.Art 1994?
Moved the self-demonstrating page to match the work name. That should fix it, at least in the short term.
ComicBook.Unnatural overlaps with DarthWiki.Unnatural and Fanfic.UnNatural. Now, only the comic has subpages plus Fanfics have priority in these cases, so I have that one figured out.
However, I have no idea what to do with the Darth Wiki page, considering it's also in Unpublished Works. Any idea what to call it?

ValdoUnpublished works don't get subpages, so there's no chance of subpage collision with it.
What would be the right name for Film. The Humans? It was originally released as a Broadway show in 2016, but then adapted as a film in 2021 by the same director of the original show. The page also covers both versions, as they are basically the same thing.
ValdoThere's a disambig page for Extermination.
I'm going to improve it.

All done.
Theatre.The Humans 2016, with a redirect from Film.The Humans 2021.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Question for y'all:
Thinking of having The Adventures of Batman and Robin and Batman Returns as a disambig page for the games (TABR and BR) according to console.
Eg.
- Batman Returns (NES)
- Batman Returns (DOS)
etc.
How does it sound?
Edited by Ominae on Mar 23rd 2024 at 6:34:36 AM
That's probably a good idea.
On the note of disambiguating video games, Capcom's Monster Hunter series could be disambiguated as VideoGame.Monster Hunter Capcom or something of the like to separate it from MonkeyByte Studios' Monster Hunter (PC).
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.To make things more confusing, there are even some Capcom's Monster Hunter games on the PC, especially the newer entries.
MonkeyByte Studios' Monster Hunter should be called Monster Hunter (MonkeyBite Studios) instead.

Kirby is awesome.Revisiting this one.
WesternAnimation.X Men 97 is now released and has a page.
ComicBook.X Men 97 is released tomorrow.
Given they're both 2024 and the comic author is Steve Foxe, I'm inclined to use ComicBook.X Men 97 Foxe to disambiguate it.
Any concerns?
Looks good
Thoughts on this
Thank you

In honor of Akira ToriyamaDeranged (South Korea) sounds good. And it's easy enough to update the pothole.
, to both
Literature. The Neverending Story and Film. The Neverending Story can't be in the same namespace because they have different wikiwords. The former is "The Neverending Story", the latter is "The NeverEnding Story".
The novel is the original one. What about moving the movie to Film. The Never Ending Story 1984?
Made the disambig page for the Batman Returns games according (in order) of consoles which was released (eg the Lynx has a BR game released first).
Will work on the "easiest" page soon.
That makes sense.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.
Move it to Film.Tooth Fairy 2010 just to be sure
