...but it's an anime. This kinda of element is why I like this stuff so much. I guess I'm a bit desensitized.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Well, obviously, they'd have to fictionalize it somewhat for the story to be interesting; liking giving them magic powers and stuff, but… C'mon, can you really buy that Styll is a priest? Or that Kanzaki is in any way a member of a Christian organization?
And yeah, non-Nessicarius branches having magic kind of defeats the purpose of Nessicarius existing.

A member? She was the head of the Amakusa. Honestly, I just ignore the religious stuff and amuse myself with the magic and explosions.
So...anyone read the whatever this series is based off of? Will the girl that the angel Misha took the form of in that beach episode appear? I think she was given a name too, forgot what it was.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I've read some of the novels. 7, 9-10, 12-13. I don't know if she appears again or not.
^^^ According to the lastest episode she's also a Saint...

We knew that before, I think. From the Angel's Fall arc. From what I can tell it just means that you're some rare person with (holy) magic powers.
Being a Saint just means you have incredible amounts of power. I don't think it means you're literally divine or a wonderful person or anything.
My understanding was that Nessicarius was just the magic using branch of the Anglican Church/Church of England. I would assume most Protestant denominations, as well as the Catholic and Orthodox Churches would need/want their own versions, for the same reason Nessecarius exists. Especially since different Christian factions used to execute others' members for heresey and stuff like that on a regular basis.
Contrary to what the Nasuverse would have you believe, Christianity and the "Church" is not exactly a unified orginization.

Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime listI find it rather funny that the proclaimed "Amakusa Catholic Church" looks more like a street gang than anything else.
I find it funny that someone would declar Mugen, of all people, the pope.
What is this? Backwards day?
I actually kind of like the idea behind the Amakusa church, the theme if you will.
Their entire point is to look well... Ordinary, and not like a church (since their origins is from a persecued minority) it's kind of a neat contrast with the more ornate churches.
That said the artist has some serious loli-fetish going on.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntOr Touma is really just that lucky.
Anyways, if the Amakusa really was trying to fit in to regular society, they're not doing that great a job...who wouldn't stare and point at their pope? Look at that hair!

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Blame the author, not the artist.
It's taking place in the actual world (as in, instead of some Fantasy Counterpart Culture) so an additional, fictional religion would be rather...meh. In that sense i'd consider it better to have an underground magical crime organization or something.
Though this series certainly is far more absurd when it comes to "magical church"
If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits.I really am lagging in this series. Currently at the episode where Touma loses his memories. Season I. -___-

My FF.net accountI'm like... "Whut..?"
I loved the concept of this show, then it turned out to be about a totally boring hero surrounded by lolis.
Misaka helps a little, but we have seen or fair share of tsunderes, so...
Nice animation, wonderful character designs, diverse cast, interesting setting. Proceeds to fail to develop or focus on any particular element, ends up a bit of a mess. Bleh.
They give birth astride of a grave, the light gleams for an instant, then it's night once moreSeason 1 had a drought of well-endowed females. I'm watching Season 2 in hopes that the new characters will correct that.
Oh, and for Accelerator too.
Still finishing: a whole lot of shows from Fall 2013 and Winter 2014.Judging by the new OP and the plethora of BOUNCY BEWBIES, I doubt that that'll be a problem.
I'd like to see more Accelerator assisted by the MISAKA network, yes. Even if he's basically fighting with a hand tied behind his back.
Finished Toaru Kagaku No Railgun. It wasn't bad like everyone was saying; the filler episodes were a decent break from the conclusion of the Level Upper arc.
Also, Mikoto wtfpwning Telestina with the broken huge part of her mecha has now topped Nanoha wtfpwning Quattro as my favorite OWNED moment in anime.

I would've liked that too if not for the fact that Telestina comes back
It sort of made sense at first, with one branch of one church specializing in keeping magic under wraps, but when you have every church involved and different branches specializing in different magics it starts to look absurd.
